The Congress is not The Congress

So according to the concierge at the front desk when we checked in, apparently The Congress Hotel was bought and split between a group of investers. So for instance I wanted to upgrade rooms, but because the particular owner who owned my booked room was different from the owner of the upgraded room, I could not do that without redoing my whole booking, getting in contact with that different owner, and possibly getting charged alot more than just an upgrade. Now also because of the individual ownership, the staff working the hotel is a 3rd party company. So when we had an issue with our shower tub being clogged and it was about 9:30pm, there was no maintenance person to help us. When I asked the concierge desk about contacting a 24hour plumber in the area, they said all they can do is call the owner of my room and the owner would need to contact a plumber. And of course the owner did not answer so we got stuck showering in a dirty tub until the 3rd party company maintenance man showed up for their shift the next morning at almost 10am. So basically the staff on hand was just good for checking in and out, contacting valet, and handing out pool towels. I'm not sure how many other hotels on ocean drive are operating the same way, but I basically should've just booked an Airbnb. No dresser in bedroom, just some hangers in closet with no shelves, you live out your suitcase. (Thankfully we were only there 2nights). The shower was missing a curtain so water got all over floor.

    Congress hotel Miami beach

Great location, very poor service. Room was not ready, lack of maintenance, shower not working, bathroom door not able to close. Room was clean.

Noise level is horrendous. Bo cleaning of the room - it is more like an air bnb type rental. No one services it during your stay. Staff is totally unhelpful, condescending and clearly couldnt care less about the customers.
