The curb appeal, the location and the holding of your luggage are the top PRO’s of this hotel. Our room was large, clean, had a balcony that overlooked Collins avenue and a view to the pool – another plus. That’s the positive I can say about this hotel. Their receptionist Jesus was not at all welcoming. We arrived earlier than expected on a rainy day and the only thing he could offer us was to hold our luggage. We had to wait till check in time – 3pm and he could not offer us a discount to their restaurant or to their bar – what he said is that we can go swim in their pool in the rain. Meanwhile the people in my party noticed that other guests were being checked in and given keys to their room. Guest who spoke Spanish were treated a little better. He did not even offer to notify us if we can go to the room a bit earlier. Their restaurant for breakfast offers items for 10 dollars that come with a beverage (coffee/juice). NONE of which ever was communicated to us by the front desk or the WAITER. Our order was part of that $10 special. We ended up paying full price along with the resort fee tax – and county tax and gratuity. It was not until check out that I saw a small advertisement for this. Jesus once again was the go-to person and he asked me well what would you like us to do? A refund was granted – from his manager. The staff at this hotel needs to better their communication and hospitality skills and alert you of everything the hotel has to offer to ALL guests..
