Did not stay on property. Terrible experience with Travelocity customer service. Way too much time spent on the phone correcting problem. Never resolved. Broken commitments from Travelocity to fix the problem

Love that it is attached to the Skyway. I like that you don’t have to go outside in February.

Nice but confusing.

Pros: The room.
Cons: Sign needed at hostess station. Hostess needs improved attitude. Breakfast buffet expensive for what they offer. Menu items are also expensive.
Location: There are several very good restaurants nearby, including the Lion's Pub which was VERY good & reasonably priced.
The hotel parking is in a ramp down the block. You go into the ramp, and can only park on certain levels to access the "City Center" which connects you to the hotel. You go thru "City Center", where there are some retail shops & a few restaurants, dragging you luggage along. Next, you go down one level (if you are on skyway level to start), walk down a hall, turn a corner & find the Marriott elevators. There is parking valet service, which we hadn't seen from the street. Next, go up to the 5th floor which is their lobby. Check in was a breeze & the staff very friendly & helpful. Rooms are nice, well appointed. Breakfast was interesting. Apparently you have to wait to be seated, but there is no indication of that. So we walked into the eating area, and were promptly escorted back to the hostess station by the hostess who had magically appeared when we were just about to sit down. She told us to wait while she prepped a couple tables (there were only four of us) even though there were tables available. Then she came back & took us to a table that was already set up. She did this to several other parties, making them go back to the hostess station. Ridiculous. Breakfast was expensive - even their "buffet" which was more like a cheap hotel free breakfast, with bacon & sausage, only they had a "chef" who would make you an omelet. $17 per person.

Right in The Heart

I have come to expect a certain degree of hospitality when I stay with Marriott, but I think the City Center is a head above most. These days most large corporate chains seem focus on maximizing efficiency and profits, but you don't get that feel from the City Center. This is further highlighted in the friendliness of the staff. Free bottled water for the drive home? Yes, please. We stayed for a short weekend trip at the end of August, and we were delighted with our experience. It was a short little escape for my wife and I. The only thing we had on our itinerary for the weekend was to catch a game at Target Field and to visit a few friends, but the concierge was more than happy to add to our list. Based on our interests, they suggested that we visit a place called First Avenue, a concert venue nearby, if we felt like having a couple of drinks. What an awesome place! The best part about the whole deal is that both Target Field and First Avenue are within in walking distance from the hotel doors, and the bellmen were more than happy to help us with directions on several occasions. As with all Marriotts, the rooms were nice and clean. They are also quite large. We stayed on one of the upper floors of the hotel, which I would recommend requesting, as you can see for miles. The food in the restaurant (I can't remember the name) was also very good, not a complete ripoff like most hotel restaurants. Go for the swordfish. In sum, thanks to the staff and the great location we had a fantastic time. We will most certainly be back if we are up that way again!
