Maintenance issues in the rooms. Staff had us change rooms only to find there was someone in that room. Just a big mess.

worn hotel

good location/bed comfortable/breakfast area good size, food and breakfast staff were great Poor ventilation - lobby and hallways were very hot and there seemed to be no air circulating. I felt badly for the maids who had to work in this hot temperature with no fresh air. Room: again, no fresh air, difficult to adjust temperature; bathroom tub squeaks when I stood in it; chair in room didn't adjust, torn in 2 places and the seat was broken. The manager knew about it when I mentioned it to him the next morning and claimed he had only taken over as manager last March. He said there were 10 rooms to replace the chairs. The hotel was not filled, why would he have given us a room where he knew the tub squeaked where ever you stood and the chairs were in such bad shape? This is a worn facility, certainly not up to the standards of a Hampton Inn.

Hello Maureen, I wanted to apologize to you for the condition and issues you faced during your stay. I am the General Manager, we spoke briefly before your departure. I am sorry to have made you feel as if I didn't care enough about the issue, or about you as my guest having to face the issue. I admit I did state that I was aware of issues we have with the chairs in our guest rooms, the issue I was referring to is that each of them lean slightly. It was brought to my attention a while back, and I have been replacing the chairs over time. I was not aware the chair had tears or rips in it, nor was I aware that it would not raise or lower. As a part of the process I did have each room inspected and we removed the chairs that were in the worst condition first. We kept several of the chairs on property which were in decent shape, only a little lean in case any of the remaining chairs were damaged prior to us completing the upgrade. I had a conversation with my housekeeping and maintenance staff shortly after your departure in regards to remaining chairs, and have asked that they ensure they are all working properly and since reading your response I have asked that they again go inspect the chairs for physical damage and replace them with chairs that are functional. I believe our last order of chairs has been placed, and soon these older chairs will be removed completely from the property. As far as our tubs and the creaking/cracking sound, only one room so far has had work done, insulation foam added underneath the tub. It was done as a test and has been approved to be done in all of our rooms. This project along with several others is set to begin this weekend. I am truly sorry that your experiences here fell so far below brand standards. I hope that this doesn't dissuade your loyalty to our brand, or to our hotel. Sincerely, Kegan Andrews

Great place to stay

This hotel was perfect for our little getaway. It was very clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and always were checking that we were satisfied with our stay and our needs were met. It was a convenient location to Sky and Natural Bridge, as well as Carter Caves if you don't mind a little drive. I'm glad we chose this location.

Overall nice hotel.

Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Overall a step below other Hampton Inns I have stayed at, but by far better than most of the other hotels in Morehead...

Probably the best in the area

Pros: Free breakfast, Quiet
In an area with few good overnight options, this is probably the best place to stay. It was new, clean, and convenient to the highway. The staff was helpful in recommending a couple of good restaurants for dinner as well.

Good place to stay

In an area without much competition in lodging, this Hampton Inn was definitely okay. The room was fine, with the usual amenities. Their included breakfast buffet was good and most of all, convenient. I would stay here again.

This hotel is beautiful!

I wish we could have stayed longer! It seemed new inside. It was very well maintained, clean, smelled great, the furnishings were beautiful. I would stay again and recommend to anyone!
