This was one of the worst places we ever stayed in. 5 Fairlie is a run down old house with paint peeling off the walls, a 1950s bathroom with an original green pedestal sink with separate hot and cold taps, and the original green bath tub, and a continously running shower head. The bedrooms had no wardrobes. There was no coffee machine with pods (they just had instant coffee sachets). The toilet was located at the back of the house and there was no sink to wash your hands. To wash your hands you had to walk through the whole house to the 1950s bathroom. The washing machine was provided but no washing power, rendering the washing machine useless. The red couch you see in the photos has not been wiped since these photos were taken probably 20 years ago. It is filthy.
At $340 per night, Commodore should be ashamed of themselves to offer such poor quality accommodation. I asked them for photos of the bedrooms and the bathroom, as there were none online and was told that they are online (which obviously they are not, as if they would have photos of the real conditon of this house, no one would ever book it.
The only positives were the lovely receptionist, who provided outstanding customer service, the comfotable beds and the well vacuumed floors.
I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone, unless you are getting it for an absolutely ridiculously cheap price, as it is worse than a backpackers.
