We drove from Plymouth mass to Mystic to check in at the hotel, and we told him we got to the counter that the room that we had reserved and already paid for did not exist because they were in the middle of renovations. We asked why we were not notified before our arrival the person checking us in had no response. We canceled our reservation and she provided us with a handwritten note saying that we would be refunding our money, but also explained that she had never dealt with a cancellation due to fault on the part of the hotel before, so would need me to speak to managers on Monday

When we arrived, someone had used the bathroom and left a little surprise for us in the toilet. Used soap left in the shower. Maybe they forgot to clean the bathroom?!

Had a nice stay minus the dog across the hall barking a ton at night and early am. I wish they kept the dog friendly rooms more separated from the non dog friendly rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is under construction so they do get a bye for the not perfect environment.
