Parksville cottage disappointment
The cottage was the right size but the cleanliness was sub par. Upon entry it was immediately noted that no time or effort had been put into the cleaning. For reference: The kitchen stove was found not cleaned; there was food debris in cupboards/drawers; filthy blinds, with dirty dusty layers; burnt out lightbulbs; dirty light fixtures with cobwebs, dust and bugs in/on light fixtures in all rooms; the worst being urine around base of toilets and fecal matter sprayed under side of toilet seat in upstairs bathroom; None of the mirrors were clean. Worst being in bathrooms with sink spray matter still left on them; Exhaust vents in bathrooms covered in thick dust; Coffee maker wasn't washed out; The cooking pots still had food matter on/in them (unwashed); and utensils, dishes still greasy from previous use but left in cupboards. We can describe more but let's just say that we spent the first hour of our stay with four people cleaning was unacceptable. Especially because we know that we paid a large "cleaning" fee which we presume was also paid by the previous renter but we arrived to find it insufficiently cleaned. There was no excuse for it to be found in such an unclean state. We have photos to prove what we found!

Loved our time. The place is cozy and very handy for a big or small family. Kids loved the pool and hut tub. Everything is within a short drive. One of our new favourite places to visit is ‘Goats on roof’

Warm cozy and lovely.
The owner was wonderful and communicative. The Kitchen was beautifully appointed for cooking. The primary bedroom with ensuite was amazing and allowed for privacy and rest. The proximity to walking trails and beaches was beautiful, and it was a short drive to Parksville, Qualicum, and Wood Grove, making this centrally located cabin a delight. The only request would be to update the rusty BBQ grill, which we could not use.
