Beach, breakfast, canoeing, etc. we’re all nice to have so close by, although I did not use any. However the lock on the sliding glass door was broke & there was an in house lock in the front door, I did not feel safe. The bathroom is barely bigger than the airplane restroom & is very dated. I would not stay here again, even though the staff was very nice & accommodating.

Hotel for layover

Booked this hotel to try to keep costs of an unexpected layover down. I would call this a two star. The building is on the quiet/residential side of Nassau and from what I could tell there was no food/drinks/entertainment within walking distance, so if you want to go out you would have to walk a ways, possibly after dark, or tack the cost of a taxi round trip on to dinner or whatever. There was an on-site restaurant, we were told, but it burned down a few weeks ago. They are rebuilding it, so maybe when that is up the food/drink situation will improve. The building was in a little rougher condition than I was expecting, but maybe my expectations were unrealistic. If I could do over again I might have spent a little more for better location and newer building. I guess it's okay for a layover but I wouldn't make this my destination. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part.

This hotel was in an inconvenient location.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, private beach
Cons: Nothing close, Poor breakfast, expensive to get to town, unorganized
Because this hotel is so far off the normal path it makes getting into town inconvenient and expensive. Other reviews have stated that the buses regularly run there every hour, however, those are very incorrect. You have one chance to catch the bus into town, a 7:00 AM, and you can catch the bus back to your hotel anywhere from 5:00-7:00, and they don't always come. To get to this location you have to pay extra on the bus, otherwise you have to take a taxi which will cost you anywhere from twenty dollars to forty dollars. I would recommend that you stay somewhere where the bus goes as they are very inexpensive. For example, Cable Beach is out of the normal busy city, but still close enough to catch the bus into town whenever you would like. The staff was very helpful, however very unorganized. They provided a breakfast that was not great, it looked as if they just put out the left-overs they had from the day before. It was in a room that did not smell pleasant. The food at the two locations at the resort was very good, and had comparable prices to the food throughout the island. We will not be staying here ever again, but only because it was so costly to get into and out of town. Hotel grounds and private beach were not kept clean.

I LOVED THIS PLACE!!! I will definitely be returning here to stay.

Pros: Quiet, beach is right there, great service, great price - you dont feel tied down to a hotel
Cons: Nothing close
If you are looking for a Bahamian experience, and really wish to see what the culture is about, stay at this place! I chose it because lets face it, if I wanted to stay in a hotel that reminded me of Vegas, I'd go to Vegas. I go to the Bahamas to meet the people and explore their culture. The staff here was amazing! I wasn't just another tourist face that they had to put up with, which is what you tend to get in the super expensive hotels. They treated me like family, making sure I had anything and everything I needed, getting me rides to and from places, making reservations at Stuart Cove's dive shop, recommending places to see and always asked how I was doing. I could walk up to the Villas from getting off the shuttle/ jitney and immediately was greeted with smiles and asked how my adventures were going. For the price you pay, you don't feel tied down to a hotel room just because you are spending loads of money on it each night. You feel guilt free to roam around the island and enjoy yourself, then come back and relax at home, instead of feeling like you should be getting your monies worth out of a hotel your spending a fortune to stay at.The beach is not even a one minute walk from your room. You see it from the balcony. The villas have a small kitchen, with burner, microwave, refrigerator, and small electric tea pot. If you need a car, you can rent one from the hotel for $50 a day if you don't want to rent one for the whole time you are there. If not, they will call the jitney (bus) to come pick you up and that is only $2. Its off the beaten path, so you will need a ride to get to the downtown area. But its SO worth it. I felt so at home and so relaxed while I stayed here that, when I go again, I'm definitely staying here. And I know they will have even more surprises for me next time, as they started to remodel certain aspects of the Villas while I was there! LOVE THIS PLACE!

Mr Johnson's Heaven On Earth

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Best place money can buy. True Caribbean place...of course, if that's what you're looking for (instead of that plastic castle called Atlantis)... great friendly people... and of course Mr Johnson - man you want to meet! The only thing you may need is a car to take you where ever you want.

Great Experience

Pros: Quiet, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, far from downtown but still worth it
The Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Had a minor incident with taxi but the staff helped us out to resolved the issue. Place was clean, quiet and relaxing. It was like a little hideout/getaway.

Peace and quite

This hotel is a real gem. It is on the opposite side of the island from all of the resorts. It is a great place for small children as the children can walk for a half mile into the ocean and the water will never be abouve thier head. The beach is beautiful and the absence of people is a real blessing. I do sugest a rental car which you can get at the airport of the owner will lease u one for $* a day. The snorkling and diving off of Lyford Cay is fantastic and Clifford National Park is near by. The people are nice helpful and friendly. They are on Bahamian time so if you are not willing to take a walk on a beautiful beach while waiting on ur breakfast you might be in trouble. I do recomend the food at the resturant though it is very good. It is not a luxuary resort like Atlantis (which I personally would write a miserable review for) but it is a true get a way. I have recomended this place to several friends and do likewise in this review.
