This is a charming hotel, having been built in the early 20th Century, and is maintained in that era. Bad points - the air conditioner for my room was a window-mounted unit, which meant that if you needed to sleep during the day, it was impossible to run the A/C and draw the curtains at the same time. Also, when I took a shower (at around 5:45 p.m.), my choice of water temperature was either ice-cold, or almost-tepid. I shared my concerns about the lack of hot water to the desk staff, they suggested that the number of people who were trying to take a shower at the same time probably exceeded the water heater's capacity.

Hi Michael, We are glad that you enjoyed our charming historic hotel. Thank you for your feedback on the AC unit and the curtains. You will be happy to know that we are working on converting to a central air system in the near future! We do understand the concern about the shower water temperature. While we wouldn't call it "historic charm," it is due to the older water pipes/system. This is another part of the property that we are going to update in the future. We are working towards updating features while maintaining the parts that we have all come to know and love here at The Faust. We hope that you will indeed visit our hotel again!

Quaint little (non-big box) historic hotel that my wife and I really enjoyed. We're from Houston and she told me several times that we should stay here the next time that we're in New Braunfels. Happy wife; happy life! P.S., we really didn't see or hear any ghosts or spirits other than the ones we imbibed in the room.
