The Hilton Garden 136 W 42nd st. was a horrible experience. We paid for a King size room with a view and got a queen that felt like sleeping on a pallet of bricks and the sight was the back of dirty buildings. We declined housekeeping but asked for extra waist bucket liners and got ice bucket liners. We asked for bottled water and they only had room temperature. The didn't have any brochures that show you things to do in the area. At check out the door man shooed us off and did not assist with hailing a cab. I paid $600 for a weekend stay and it was the worst. The manager appeared lost and confused even as other customers complained about the lack of and other issues.

My stay was nice but parking fee was not clear when I booked it said parking was included and then when I got here it wasn’t. Unclear and didn’t specify that the parking was off site.

My reservation was cancelled with out any notice to me or travelocity. So after I drove almost 7 hours after working all morning and then hauling my luggage two blocks to be told they had cancelled my room and were sold out... but I could walk to their sister hotel a few more blocks away and hopefully get one of the 4 rooms they had left... they told me that my card declined on the site which was totally a lie. I used the same card at the next hotel and it worked perfectly. I’m just upset that I was not notified at all that they had cancelled my room. I ended up booking another place that wasn’t affiliated with this property at all and was beyond happy with the experience there.

Rooms are small the beds were full size so they were smaller. Everything else was pretty good although when we went to the lobby they were completely out of coffee and when I talk to the concierge she didn't seem to intrested in fixing the problem.
