The rooms was very outdated. I booked a room with 2 full beds. When I checked into the hotel, I was told they did not have a room with 2 full beds available. They have me a room with 2 twin beds and a roll away bed until the next day. That room was very dirty. A dirty, gross sugar packet was on the floor, the soap packages looked like they was 10 years old and used. The beds was terrible, very old and broken down. The carpet was so bad that we didn't even want to step on it without our shoes on. paid over $400.00 a night including the taxes for this room. The 2nd room they gave me was not much better and there was a giant bug in this room that we have a video of this bug. The rooms look nothing like the rooms they advertise. So very disappointing.

Dear Bonnie, We would like to apologize for the issues encountered during your recent time with us. While the pictures online are representative of our property, the images don't depict all of our different room types and amenities. Nonetheless, we assure you that we've notified the appropriate team to look into each of the concerns you raised and take the necessary action to promptly resolve them when possible. Currently, we are working hard and investing in our hotel to improve our guest experience. As part of that, we are renovating rooms and incorporating the latest technology. We are also creating inviting public spaces on every floor for our guests to enjoy. Being in such a prime location in NYC means that the demand for our hotel is high. To ensure we keep up with our guests' needs, we have purchased check-in kiosks to speed up that process for our guests. That process can be challenging, especially when we encounter a large tour group arriving by bus, which may slow down the check-in process. This is our 100th anniversary and we will be ready to exceed your expectations in every aspect. We hope you will give us another try. Sincerely, Gene Nicotra, Vice President/General Manager

Desk staff was slow and understaffed. There was someone in my first room. When I went to get a different one, I was in line with one person who didn't have a functioning toilet for the last two hours and three others complaining of mold and falling ceiling.

We would love to earn back your recommendation and welcome the opportunity to have you back. Please reconsider choosing us again. We know we can do better. The location was the best part of this reservation. This hotel is very conveniently located a block away from Macy's, and directly across from Madison Square Garden. We were able to walk from the hotel to Rockefeller, St. Patrick's, Times Square, etc. However, if you choose a "classic room" as we did - at a tune of 400.00 a night...you will get an exceptionally dated room. OLD furniture, 1970's bedding, wires running across the room, prison-esque bathroom, no room amenities minus a TINY (1 foot square maybe) refrigerator. Very old, stale carpet. The maintenance man had to come up and address our TV and he acted completely annoyed, and was rude to my son. I asked the elevator security desk for a pen and he barked back, "what do you need a pen for? " The "free breakfast" is 1/2 block down the road at the R cafe...it's a line where they had you a pastry, a cup of fruit, and a cup of coffee. Again, 1/2 block away from the hotel itself. Just be aware when booking...you are paying for the location. Nothing else...and they know it, and they couldn't care less.

I thought the hotel had been renovated but our room was right out of the 40’s. But it was clean and comfortable and bed was great. Bathroom not so much. But Plan to continue coming back to it

In my travels around the world for Business and Pleasure; I’ve never stayed at such a filthy establishment in my life; this places has the worst service and conditions I’ve experience. My advise to anyone wishing to stay here; DONT!!! Yes, location is excellent but find another hotel..
