Unfortunately, on the day we checked in, there was a major power outage on the west side and all facilities were not available in that situation although not due to negligence of the hotel. The one thing that upset me a little was that a wedding was planned at the hotel the next day so I wasn’t given access to the lounge which was one of the reasons I chose that hotel

I was very pleased with the level of acceptance for all the dogs visiting the hotel. On the website it mentioned that there were door hangers to let the staff know when dogs are in the room and I did not get one. So my room was not refreshed (new towels, make the bed, empty the trash, etc.) the first morning I was there. The dog was gone all day with me and when I got back I had to call to get fresh towels. That was the only downside during my stay.

My stay at Kimpton Ink48 was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Location was perfect, away from the bustle of Times square but still close enough that I could walk there. I had a city view, but other skyscrapers and the weather didn’t really allow me to enjoy it. Next time I’ll book a room facing the Hudson and will ask for a room on a higher floor. Also, noise level in hotel and throughout was just fine, no complaint there. BATHROOM: Very spacious bathroom w/ enough room for two people for use w/out being on top of each other. The corner rainfall shower was a bit of a pain for lack of available space to move around & not enough shelf space to put your shower toiletries (literally had only the soap bar shelf available). The soaking tub was idyllic, especially to help relax your muscles after the 10+ hours of walking the streets of NYC. Only Con of the bathroom was the water pressure in the soaking tub was incredibly slow, taking almost 45 minutes just to fill. BEDROOM: My bed was AMAZINGLY comfortable, I slept better than I had in months. The makeup vanity nook w/ seating was perfect, giving me enough space to set up all of my makeup for the day ahead. The A/C was exceptional, genuinely surprised at how powerful it was, keeping me cool throughout the night for a good nights rest. Enough charging docks to keep all of my electronics up and running. The extra seating space was convenient for when I had work to do or simply a hang spot instead of the bed. Overall, enough space to move around.

Great Location for Hell's Kitchen & Hudson River

Pros: View from river side of 12th floor suite.
Cons: Very loud HVAC, expensive Internet.
Location: Hell's Kitchen, short walk to Times Square.
I booked this because I was attending an event at Pier 94, and the location was excellent -- an easy walk there, or to the USS Intrepid, had I chosen to do that. The hotel is contemporary, and everything seems new and in good order. The lobby is small but comfortable, and the restaurant is decent, if a bit expensive (even by NY standards). I stayed in a Suite, which -- as so often -- wasn't really a suite. To me, a suite requires a door between the living area and the bedroom, which this did not have (and no lock on the bathroom door!). So when I had a cocktail party there one evening, it was like doing it in a normal bedroom. As a suite, the room was perhaps bigger than most rooms there, but not overly spacious. It did have an excellent view of the Hudson River, and so seemed bigger. Other than the not-suite part, the room was comfortable, with one major exception. A few cons: their HVAC (I guess if it works, you don't notice it), but this one roared like a freight train whenever it turned on -- which was often. Even at the lowest fan setting, it was loud enough to wake me up at night, and I'm not a light sleeper. I ended up turning it off at night, leaving the room quite cold in the morning. Also, the Internet was expensive, and not very fast/reliable. This is disappointing in the current day and age. Other than that, the amenities were pretty good, the gym was small but well-equipped, and the staff was very friendly.
