The property is not very well maintained. The staff is inexperienced and made misleading statements. Travelocity Customer Service has promised to contact the hotel and get back to me about the incident that occurred. I am still waiting for Travelocity to get back to me on this.

This is a charming hotel. I've stayed here many times before. However our room had no fridge, no microwave & more importantly no desk. Not ideal when you are working & not on vacation. Breakfast was cooked by someone who obviously hates to cook, & hates eggs. Scrambled eggs were overdone, dry & brown. Sausage was waxy, and bacon way way overdone & they were so stingy with it it was always out. And parking is always a huge hassle.

The staff at the reception was very helpful. However, the place is shabby and does not feel clean. Breakfast is cheap, the tables, plates and utensils were dirty, there was not enough food and the little food offered was of low quality and some of it smelled bad

Quaint, clean, friendly, quiet. Beautiful gardens with charming tables for an outside drink or meal. The hotel still needs some renovation; our room needed fresh paint, for example, but it was a comfortable place in a convenient location. I'll happily stay there again.

Nice accommodations close to UC Berkeley.

Pros: I really enjoyed the hotel grounds. The gardens were a delight. I loved the furnishings in our room. The breakfast was more than we expected.
Cons: Our refrigerator unit did not work. But we most ate out so it was not an issue this time. The parking situation is not the best.
Location: This is ideal location close to UC Berkeley and all East Bay locations as well as San Francisco. Also close to some great coffee shops and eateries.
Very nice hotel close to UC Berkeley. The hotel had a Victorian feel to it and the hotel gardens were absolutely a delight. The hotel had a B and B feel to it. The staff was friendly and accomadating. Looking forward to our next stay.
