"We loved our stay at the Cliff House Inn! The setting is spectacular with great ocean views! Unfortunately, in the standard ocean view rooms, your balcony is a shared walkway, so guests may pass by your room when your window is wide open. I think there are 2 suites where the balcony is more
Private as they are located at the end of the walkway, and at a right angle.
If you are looking for a state of the art hotel, this isn’t it. The rooms are a little worn from wear. But that’s not important to us, and they were clean.
The included breakfast is so so. Coffee was weak, baked breakfast coffee cake was undercooked. There were hard boiled eggs and make your own toast or bagels.
However, dinner at the Shoals restaurant was divine!! You must eat here! I had a large delicious pork chop with perfectly cooked spinach, green beans and carrots on a bed of mashed potatoes. My husband had pesto fettuccine with chicken. Also perfectly cooked! Both of our Meals were served hot and with warm bread and butter on the side.
I made sure to send compliments to chef Reyno. Our server Billie Ray was friendly and efficient, and her assistant Heladio made sure my husband’s water glass stayed filled. The ambience is wonderful with linen table cloths and napkins, and of course a view. You can also sit outside, which some did, but it was too cold for me!
We spent some time sitting outside on the lawn chairs, reading and enjoying the view.
There is a small beach access about 5 minutes away.
