Great running trail and fitness facility, smallrm

Running trail was awesome, great fitness facilities for a hotel, very clean room, nice quick service meal spot, healthy choices, great pool, noisy due to water falls and geiser. Room was small for 4 people, nice bathroom with two sinks. 6th floor balcony was smaller than lower levels.

Great Disney Resort

Pros: We loved the atmosphere and "homey" feeling.
Location: Easy boat access to Magic Kingdom and Fort Wilderness.
We found the Wilderness Lodge to provide a comfortable and quality accommodation for our stay. The staff was very helpful, the facilities were beautiful, and it provided a relaxing atmosphere away from the chaos of the parks. We enjoyed the "quiet pool" and the beautiful lobby/atrium area. We found several nooks and crannies in which to relax and read, as well as the beautiful views from our room and the lobby area. Artist's Point restaurant was really a fine dining experience! The food and service was outstanding.

We arrived very late due to our flight and the hotel was well you're awful late

Cons: poor selection of food
Meals were not conducive to children. Not a good variety of menu options even for adults.

Wilderness Lodge is a great place to stay with kids! Loved it!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, great theme, great pool, fun family activities
This was our first trip to Disney, and if we went back, I'd stay at the Wilderness Lodge again! There is ferry service to Magic Kingdom, which was convenient, quick, and a nice ride in itself! We caught the fireworks show on our ferry rides a few times, with a beautiful view reflecting off the lake! The Lodge had a fun theme, nightly campfires and movies by the beach, a great pool with a slide and hot tub. The resort's restaurant, the Whispering Canyon Cafe was also a blast, with the waitstaff playing jokes on all the diners. Our kids (ages 6 and 8) begged to go back to the resort from the parks several times so they could swim...great pick!

Wilderness Lodge has become our home away from home whenever we visit Disney!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Always a great place to stay at Disney. Great theme resort! Just like being at a great north west lodge but with the Disney touch added in.

Great place to spend time with a young child.

Pros: Close restaurants, super convenient to everything, rustic environment
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy
My six year old and I got a courtyard view room and stayed for a week. I loved the view, but would caution that you will have loud children swimming late at night and you will also hear horns from boats on the lake. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the room for you. Housekeeping was good, and we had several cute towel animals throughout our stay. Room service was on time and the food was hot and tasty. The overall hotel was very convenient to Magic Kingdom by boat or bus. Often even when we went to other parks, we'd take a bus or monorail to MK and then boat it back to the hotel from there. The Roaring Fork fast-service dining leaves a little to be desired, but that's not unusual. One can only have so many pre-warmed hamburgers in a week. We dined in the Whispering Canyon Cafe, which was a nice change. It's a bit quirky, but the shows and ketchup game amused the kids, which was nice. We loved the constant variety of activities. Movies on the beach, the chance to see the MK fireworks from the beach every night, the light show on the lake, marshmallow roasting, etc. were a hit. When we needed a break from the MK and other parks, there was enough to do at the hotel to let us relax, but still feel like we could do and try new things. One thing that was rather disappointing was the strength of the WIFI. I could get connected, and once had an opportunity to browse the web for five minutes, then the WIFI wouldn't work. I never did get it to work reliably for the whole week, which I suppose is fine. It just would have been nice to be able to upload photos at the end of the day.

Christmas time here is beautiful

Pros: rustic national park type decor
You can't beat the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas time. They decorate the lodge with a beautiful tree that seems to be several stories tall. It's my favorite Disney hotel and worth the extra $ . Being there for Christmas is even better. The only thing that could have been improved was the bed. The one we had seemed to be caving in a little from wear and tear. It was a very high quality mattress they use, but this one seemed to have had its day and should probably have been retired. Overall I will continue to go here and no one has reported any bed bugs at this place yet either that I'm aware of, thank God.

Great place for family

Pros: Quiet, pool and hot tubs
Cons: pricey meals
I enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. The staff was courteous, organized and efficient at check-in and beyond; one saved me from lining up at the concierge desk by checking on my inquiries herself. The room was clean. We were on the 6th floor and had a balcony overlooking the pool. Beyond the pool, overlooking the bay, a geyser erupted skyward every hour.  There was also a poolside bar where, on the last day, I relaxed with a Sangria as the boys splashed down the slide into the pool or warmed themselves in the hot tub, as it was a bit windy most mornings and evenings this first week of Nov. We enjoyed the hot tub, too, after our long forays into the parks. Our only complaint is Disney's ridiculous pricing for food. The food was good, however. I ended up ordering kid portions for me and let my 9-year-old eat the adult size. His twin brother was perfectly happy with the child's portion, too. I felt room size fine....we weren't there for the room, but for the park.
