This should NOT be rated as a 4-star hotel. Our room was 'bare bones' - no amenities: no dresser with drawers to put your clothes, no coffee brewer, no microwave, no pictures on the walls, uncomfortable bed, furniture included two night stands (no drawers), and a small round table with two dinette-type wooden chairs. Water in shower ran hot and cold alternately every few minutes and the wooden sit-down bench was slanted and slippery. There were no water glasses or cups in the bathroom. Access to the pool and jacuzzi was through the lobby, but there were steep stairs to get from the lobby to the pool and no handicap ramp. Coffee was available only in the lobby and no continental breakfast of any kind. On the positive side, the room was clean, the grounds well-kept and the staff friendly and helpful.

A stay at the Ingleside Inn is like taking a step back into old world Palm Springs during its heyday. Tim greeted us and made sure we were well taken care of. Our beautiful room with its private patio looking out at the gorgeous bougainvillea and mountains made me never want to leave! The pool is sparkling and the perfect temperature. Poolside service is amazing, they made sure our drinks were never empty. The beautiful courtyard and fountain to the hammocks and fire pit this is the place to stay! A must if you stay here is to eat at Melvyn's and have a cocktail or three at the bar. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful classic Palm Springs of Hollywood era

Cons: Nothing
Location: Sightseeing, shopping desert zoo, cactus gardens, tram to top of mountain, hiking
A great place to stay. Built in the 1920's with a history of movie stars everywhere. Staff is helpful friendly and efficient. Place is on beautiful grounds next to the main street of the city but tucked away for quiet and privacy. Outdoor heated salt water pool, hot tub, beautiful lawn chairs, etc. I love this place!

Rundown villas need updating

Pros: Positives: -Very quiet property -Pool is kept up daily with towels/water available -Staff is very courteous and helpful -Bathrooms are clean and seem
Cons: cleanliness, A/C quality in villa 3, upkeep (peeling plaster in room and broken chair), missing window blinds for no good reason!
Location: Everything in downtown
Something very strange is going on with this property since there have been no new reviews posted since April 2017, but there were consistent weekly or bi-weekly reviews up until then. Bottom line, the villas in this place are not in good shape. However, they are in the process of remodeling the villas within the next month. But for the prices they're charging and the resort fee, it is a let down. We stayed in Villa 3, and I believe this is the worst of the bunch. I also suspect we were put here because we booked through a third party. Issues: -Villa 3 is a dud. It was the only villa I could see while walking the property that had an old style in-wall box A/C, which is pretty loud and dated. -The walls had plaster coming off of them from places where I'm assuming art used to hang but they never bothered to spackle over. -The elastic under the seat cushion in our room's lounge chair was completely dry rotted. We almost fell through because the straps are gone. We mentioned this to management upon checkout. Not sure how they wouldn't know about it with the state it's in. -Lastly, for some reason our villa was the only one that completely lacked venetian blinds. Every other villa had them, and they looked functional. I also mentioned this to management upon checkout, and the person at the desk had no idea why that was the case or where the blinds may have disappeared to.

Our first time at Ingleside

Pros: Location, staff, restaurant and style of the hotel. Very different
Cons: It looked like there could be improvements here and there, but nothing that affected our stay
Location: Great restaurants, Palm Springs street fair on Thurs nights
Had a wonderful time. Villa #1 was the perfect location for us. Staff very friendly and helpful in everyway We can't wait to return!

Pros: The Inn staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and, even in the middle of summer in Palm Springs, very well cooled.
Location: Walking distance to Downtown (but not so close that you can hear the noise). Nice neighborhood to stroll around too.
Everything we were looking for in a "home base" for a family weekend. Although we were going to be spending some time with other family during the weekend, we also knew that we would have "down time", so I was looking for something more than just a place to sleep. The Inn is perfect as a place to just relax. Although it has been renovated, it still has a classic vibe to it. The pool is lovely, quite and relaxing. The rooms were charming. We had 3 rooms and each had a different theme. They were also spacious, so all of us meeting up in one room wasn't problematic. The courtyard and front veranda are very nice for just sitting and chatting. The staff was very attentive. The whole experience was very "A-list". Highly recommend for a weekend get-away or longer visit.

Great hotel back in the day.

Pros: The grounds and setting are beautiful.
Cons: The entire room needed updating , The bathroom was not conveniently laid out, way too small and old.
We were so disappointed in the condition of the rooms. Everything needs to be updated. The hotel grounds were beautiful but the rest of the place looked dated. We only ate lunch at the hotel and we were not impressed. Food was just ok at best. We would look for a newer updated hotel in the future.

Excellent staff, excellent service!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
I was looking for a quiet smaller hotel to stay in Palm Springs where I could choose peaceful and quiet or enjoy some music in the evenings if I chose to. The staff was very conscientious without being intrusive. Food was very good (: My bed was only average comfortable but everything was very clean. I would return again but I would ask for one of the rooms with a private courtyard for a little less distraction when simply sitting outside sunning and reading.

This is the hotel you want if you want a romantic getaway. The ambiance you just can't create at other hotels.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Just a quick drive outside of LA sits this beautiful little hotel. Most of the places to stay in Palm Springs are newer and overtly Las Vegas types. The Ingleside Inn harkens back to a time when getting away meant something. Staying in the same room Frank Sinatra stayed in is something to tell your kids about. Nostalgia, Nostalgia , Nostalgia!!
