Clean, comfy, friendly, convenient!

I recently stayed here for two weeks! The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. My room was clean and comfortable. The location is ideal: just steps from the Châtelet-Les Halles Metro station and a lot of good cafés and restaurants, not to mention only a 10-minute walk from both the Louvre and Notre Dame. And yet it was quiet! I highly recommend the Hôtel des Ducs d’Anjou!

Probably avoid.

Pros: The Chatelet metro station is just outside the hotel. Hotel is right in the middle of tons of restaurants in the Marais area.
Cons: Another customeronthesame floorcomplained that it wastoo coldinthehotel SHUTOFF ALL airconditioningunits, setthecentralair for thatarea 26 C.
Location: The Wifi is horrible. It worked about 20% of the time. It seemsturned off at 11 PM at night and resumed it at 6 AM. You have to log in each time

Great location and very clean

Pros: Close restaurants, very clean
Cons: breakfast is overpriced
We liked this hotel. It is modern, very clean and in a great location. The rooms are good sized for French rooms, the king sized bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked well (it was needed for our visit). I agree with other reviews that it could get noisy outside at night, but I could only hear it in the bathroom -- the bedroom was very quite and we slept well (I do not know if that was room location or different type of window in the bathroom). I did think the breakfast was overpriced. This was our first trip to France and we did not stay in Paris the entire time so we ended up staying at 3 different hotels in Paris. Each one had its pluses, but I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Overpriced, very small room, good location

It looks better on the picture. The room was really small. When I booked the hotel I was not notified that the hotel was under repairs. I couln't enjoy the terrace because my view was blocked because of the repairs on the front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was good, it is very centric and if you don't want to spend to much money, there are some small restaurant where you can have kebahs, the subway is very close, almost on the corner on the street I believe. We stay in this hotel in the new year, so it was kind of noisy outside. In general, is a good option if you want something centric and close to the subway but it is overpriced for the quality of the room (old furniture, extremely small).

Pleasant Experience

I was taking a bit of a risk since there were no prior reviews of this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've heard alot of no-so-great stories of european (and French) hotels and staff. This hotel surpassed my expectations. Every staff member from those at the desk to the breakfast guy to the maids were very polite and attentive. They made us feel welcome and very at home in their hotel. We ended up joking around and having conversation with some of the gals at the front desk they were so sweet and fun. They speak english and are very gracious for those that don't speak french. I was helped with activity reservations, airport taxis, directions, local advice, dining. \n\nThe lobby, lounge, breakfast room are very beautiful, clean and comfortable. The rooms don't reflect the same stylishness as common areas, but are consistent with European standards and still pleasant to be in. The rooms are a bit small by American standards but nothing that is unreasonable. I've had smaller rooms. The bathrooms are really clean- no shower doors for the basic rooms, but not a problem. Rooms were cleaned daily and kept pretty spottless. Front facing rooms have a nice view of the neighborhood. If noise is an issue, you should request a room on the sides or back of the hotel as the clubs and restaurants in the alleys directly in front of the hotel are very noisy and stay lively all night until early morning (6am). Website says "soundproofed" rooms, that wasn't my experience. \n\nAll in all, I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and I am picky! Location is great- close to the river and "central" paris, 15 steps to metro. Make sure to eat at Chez Max on St. Honore 1.5 blocks down.
