Stayed here for five nights in August 2019. In summary, this is a very basic hotel that might make sense for travelers if the price is right. But avoid during peak summer, as their AC system is weak and unreliable. I paid about $80 per night with breakfast, which was a good price compared to the alternatives. I was attending an event at the conference center next door (cité des sciences et de l'industrie), so the location was perfect for me. The rooms are small but seemed to be clean. The breakfast was OK, though they should serve better coffee. This is a basic hotel with few amenities. The hotel restaurant (Hippopotamus) was closed for renovation, but there are many others close by. The neighborhood seems very typical of places at the edge of the inner parts of Paris. Mostly immigrants, many small and usually basic restaurants and shops, felt quite safe. However, the hotel is right on the 7 subway line that gets you into the center and even directly to the Louvre. The main problem was the lack of proper AC in the rooms, which was a real issue given the record temperatures that Paris had during my stay. Basically, the AC failed, and the staff was not very forthcoming about this but told everyone they would send someone to their room to "fix things", when the real problem was that the overall system just didn't work properly. Actually, by overall rating is very generous -- you probably should avoid this place in July and August until it is clear they have fixed the system.
