AWESOME VACAY

On vacation my husband I like to relax, eat well and do nothing. We did just that in Barbados staying at The House. The rooms are nice and the online descriptions and pictures are actually the reality when you arrive. We loved the personal attention received through ambassadors vs. traditional hotel setups. The included breakfast is quite tasty featuring classic continental fare but also local dishes and an egg station where omelets or egg benedict are prepared. We loved the daily tea time (being from America this is not a typical activity) and the assorted treats that accompanied it. The staff are awesome. Very professional, accommodating and friendly! During our stay were invited to the Managers Cocktail Party and it was nicely done. the hors d'oeuvres were excellent. Be careful with the rum punch! ;) Its a small (34 rooms) adult-only hotel, which we prefer, so it was very quiet but guests were friendly. We appreciated not having an A/I plan so that we could sample the local restaurants. It can be pricey but its worth it the cost. The only cons: 1.beaches in Barbados are public access so you would get a few pesky/persistent local vendors trying to sell a tour or jewelry or jet-ski ride. 2. the complimentary jet lag massage was at best 5 on a 1-10 scale but hey its complimentary. we tipped anyway and 3.the vacation had to come to an end. WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN and PLAN ON IT!

I was able to really relax here.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
We arrived late due to missed connections, but they were ready for us and very accommodating. The room and amenities were as described and the staff was wonderful. I wish I could have stayed longer.

This hotel is fantastic - Service, Service, Service!!!

My wife and I decided to spend a few days leading up to New Years at "The House" and had a wonderful time. As we entered this intimate, adults only, tranquil property your first see a wide lobby/lounge area all-white chairs and music throughtout the lobby (reminds me a bit of the entrance to the Delano hotel, Miami). We were immediately greeted by an Ambassador who is responsible for managing all your needs during your stay. Our Ambassador, Joanna, took exceptional care of us and even arranged deliver of a local dish I requested which was served on the beach. She definetely went above and beyond here. At 4pm, tea is served; just imagine listening to Zero 7 or Thievery Corporation having afternoon tea while soothing waves slither onto the beach. Oh, the beach is absolutely stunning; sand is wonderful and the "The House" beach side service is equally exceptional. One recommendation - AC blows directly over the bed...they need to move it to another spot. Also, the rooms are a bit dated but should be updated later this year...just in time for our next December trip.

Not too shabby

I'm used to quality like that at the Pere Marquette in Peoria, IL, and while this was good, it wasn't up to par with the Pere. I would stay here again though.
