This hotel is well kept for a structure of its age, and clean. The staff are nice, and friendly. Guess I am getting picky, though. Parking area not visible flobby, and vice versa. Advice? Check in, unload, go park and walk a block back. Locating my room required a winding path through the large common areas, through a back door, past the pool, through another door and then the elevator....shlepping suitcases. I reserved (through Travelocity) a few weeks in advance. Was charged one rate which, just prior to leaving for hotel, dropped by $40. Took 1/2 hour trying with Travelocity to get the reduced rate. Room had a lovely view of very large generating station 30 yards away and hard up against the elevator.Too much to complain about for a one night stay. Bed was adjustable, sign at check on the counter advised me so. Could not find the knob to adjust it until I was leaving the next day (under the sheets, under the mattress cover, on the side of the mattress...a hint to its location would have come in handy, but again, it was 11:00 p.m. and I just wanted to sleep. Was there for a meeting. When I asked the front desk where it was, they said "no such event", then (more discussion), "yes, I guess we do". Where? "Don't know", go look at the rooms over there. Return for another stay there? Probably not.

Overpriced, but clean

Pros: The staff and location
Cons: Service during breakfast
My business partner & I were in town for a training. The location of this hotel was closest to our training center. The area is a business district, which was fine for us. The hotel itself was a little lack luster for the price. We were there during a peak season, but for over $200 a night I was expecting more. Overall the room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant was extremely over priced for the food that was offered. The saving grace for this hotel is the staff. Luis at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. The rest of the staff was also great with the exception of the servers during the breakfast. We did not have a server during our breakfast until it was time to leave and they brought the check.

Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Midtown

Pros: Hotel was clean and housestaff was very hospitable.
Location: I came to Phoenix for a job interview, but I did have time to enjoy some the restaurants nearby the hotel.
I booked my stay at this Hilton hotel for a job interview at the nearby hospital. Hotel staff were adept at answering any questions and quick to recommend nearby restaurants for my day prior to my interview. Shuttle was first-come first-serve, but one can schedule ride albeit limited to a 5-mile radius. Pool and fitness room seemed nice.
