we have returned to Sheraton Grand many many times. This time was relaxing and overall great as always! few small things - our room wasn't ready at checkin time (we are loyalty members) the gal who checked us in was quite young and not very professional or experienced at taking care of the situation - we had to go over to the spa to kill some time while we waited for our room (and a spa appointment that was scheduled for myself) we ended up having to pay $20 for my husband to join me at the spa pool while we waited. room was additional 20 minutes later than they promised us it would be. Other than that rest of trip was enjoyable as always- and why we choose to return again and again - very nice, clean grounds, friendly staff, comfortable. Beds could be improved. We also did not get one of the "upgraded" rooms which are supposed to go to loyalty members

Great hotel for FAMILY vacation

My husband and I planned our trip here for a relaxing weekend away from home. The resort is beautiful, service is outstanding, food, restaurants and amenities are great! Very clean, well maintained property and very friendly and professional staff. The only downside is that for Memorial Day weekend, (and all weekends throughout the summer)this resort caters to local communities with lots of activities for kids. There were literally hundreds of kids taking over the pool area all weekend. Disney movies played on the big screen while we tried to enjoy a nice dinner on the terrace. Kids running down the halls. Loud, live music at the pool. I wish that this had been communicated on the resort website so we could have better planned our trip. If you’re looking for a FAMILY fun resort, this is the place. A quiet weekend getaway, go somewhere else.

Wild Horse Pass visit May 2017

Pros: The historical recreation of the Gila River
Cons: More dining options on property
Location: Bondurant racing school, easy drive to old Phoenix and Superstition Mountains, local restaurants.
The hotel is outstanding. My wife enjoyed a relaxing week while I raced cars at Bondurant. The location to the venue was perfect and the property is outstanding. We really enjoyed the way the property recreated the Gila River and created a relaxing environment pool-side. We even completed our Looney Toons quest by seeing a wild coyote AND road runner!

Lovely hotel in a peaceful setting

This hotel was amazing. It was a couple miles from the main road and had a very quiet and tranquil environment. Food in the restaurants was very good, nice big pool area and it had about a 2 mile nature walking trail. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Close to a casino.

Experience the Sanctuary

My daughter and I wanted a Spa experience with sunshine and a lot of outdoor possibilities and at this time of year, Arizona has wonderful weather. We picked the Sheraton at Wild Horse Pass and loved our stay. It's not the most posh place we've stayed at, but definitely one we would return to. Three reasons, first, nature. The hotel, located on the Gila River Indian Community lands near Aji Mountain is a sanctuary for the Pima and Maricopa peoples. A river runs through the hotel properties with a river walk that's perfect in the cool mornings or evenings. As we drove in a coyote trotted by, a Blue Heron was fishing in the river, and rabbits, birds, and wildlife were abundant. There is even a herd of 1,500 wild horses and a stable nearby where you can saddle up and take a ride out to see these magnificent creature in the wild. Second, the amenities. Restaurants, including a five-star dining room. Gift shops, a golf course, a water slide and lovely pool, storytellers in the evenings around a campfire . . . the Aji Spa & Salon. I had a healing treatment called Thoachta from the tribal healer, Belen Stoneman, that was an outstanding experience. The Spa is gorgeous with two pool areas, indigenous healthy food, and their own line of products based upon heritage healing plants and herbs. Third, the town of Chandler is nearby as well as shopping in the huge outlet mall about five minutes from the hotel. Highly recommend.

Watch for hidden charges

Cons: Disclose all hidden charges
At time of registration at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass I was informed of a $25.00 surcharge for staying at the Hotel, which was a surprise to me. I questioned if this was a one time charge and what does $25.00 cover, " it's a charge for staying at the resort. Once I checked out of the Sheraton I was charged $25.00 per day for staying at this hotel. I never used the gym, spa or other amenities, if asked if I thought the additional $75.00 on top of the actual daily rate was worth the stay..NO!

Anniversary Weekend

Pros: The room was beautiful, I loved the walking trails all around the resort property.
Cons: I know it's Arizona...but we came on the coldest weekend!!! Would have loved for the main pool to have been heated! It's so petty and selfish!!!
Location: I was surprised that Phoenix is so easy to get around, we went the Desert Botanic Gardens.
We had such an amazing time at this resort. The resort was beautiful, great food, great spa, we had a nice relaxing weekend!
