Ballinduin Bothy is located midway between the delightful Perthshire towns of Pitlochry and Aberfeldy and about one mile from the picturesque villages of Strathtay and Grandtully which straddle the river Tay. Built in the latter half of the 19th century, the Bothy was converted approximately 50 years ago, underwent a full refurbishment in 2014 and is finished to a high standard. There are truly stunning views from the lounge windows and garden to the south and west up the Tay valley towards Aberfeldy. These include water sports on the river Tay and loch Tay, walking at any degree of difficulty from a stroll along the Tay to scaling the heights of Ben Lawers, cycling on the many local tracks or a round of golf at the 9 hole course in Strathtay. The Birks cinema in Aberfeldy and the Festival theatre in Pitlochry are close enough to take in a show in the evenings and there are numerous restaurants, shops and pubs in these towns. The Accommodation is on one level and comprises lounge with wood burner, kitchen/diner, 3 double bedrooms including a twin room, each with an ensuite shower/toilet and there is a separate utility room with butler sink and washing machine.

Lovely house and location
We stayed with another 2 couples for a week. The house was very well looked after, clean and well presented. We loved the stunning view from the windows in the sitting room and the lovely garden. There is a well looked after gas bbq which we used as the weather was great. Plenty spaces for parking. The house is located quite high up the hill with quite a steep walk back up from Grandtully which may be difficult if you’re not too fit, so a car drive back up would be easier. Could do with another fridge to chill drinks etc. but would not put us off by any means. There are a couple of bars/restaurants in Grandtully and would recommend the Inn on The Tay to eat as it also has a nice outside sitting area looking on to the river rapids. All in all, a beautiful place to stay and chill. We would definitely come back.

Great holiday home.
Great holiday home in an amazing place. Red squirrels, hares, pheasants and red legged partridges in the garden kept us all on watch and beautiful starry night skies. The property was amazing and very spacious.

Scottish Perfection
Well-appointed property with great views of the highlands. It is well located for day driving trips to many of Scotland's iconic sites, as well as local interests for more relaxing days. Our host, Stewart could not have been more responsive to any of our questions or needs. He even came to the rescue -- power saw in hand -- to clear a fallen tree from the driveway one morning on our way out. "The Bothy" is the perfect place to stay to compliment the attractions of Scotland. John, Liz, Bob & Judy

Idyllic retreat in beautiful Tayside.
Spacious and harmonious stone buildings set on hillside with breathtaking views of the Tay velley and mountains in the distance. Red squirrels busied themselves in the garden, while hares quietly nibbled amongst the startled pheasants. Hawks spiralled overhead. We left our comfortable bothy each day to walk in Glen Lyon, Aberfeldy, along the Tay and around Pitlochry and Dunkeld. A peaceful and refreshing place.

We all deserve a treat!
To find this location needs the detailed instructions provided by our host. But we were rewarded on our arrival with the sight of a Red Squirrel and Hare sitting in our garden. Inside we enjoyed accommodation finished and presented to a high standard. The view from our windows were wonderful. Overall our stay was a weeklong treat. Liz, Eliz and Richard
