Gave me the wrong suite, then asked me to pack and move the next day which was an inconvenience after a long flight and drive from the airport. The entire building did not have a TV signal and they expect me to be OK with just an apology letter from the manager. When asked if the tv signal would be available next day they said NO for your entire stay, I was kinda upset but i went up to the room, the shower was clogged and I ended up taking quick shower the whole bathroom overflowed. Very disappointed. The front desk lady was very welcoming and of course the cleaning ladies too. The guy that made the mistake at check in needs more training and the night shift gentleman was ok but didn't like the comment of "the people dont come here to watch tv" Wth!!! He also needs more training in knowing the amenities listed in the hotel and dont reply to customers that way. 2nd trip to this hotel...I dont thing i could comeback here.

Nicely decorated and excellent staff

The room is comfortable and well cleaned. Perhaps it requires minor maintenance on items like showerhead and toilet tobe perfect. Staff is awesome, from reception to housekeeping. It's located in the middle of the trendy 5th ave, where most of non beach activity is happening, crowded with people in a trotoir. It can be noisy with loud music pumping every night until 1am. A 10 min walk brings you to the public beach. In a few minutes you get ATM, currency exchange, restaurants, gadgets, fashion, an overwhelming amount of options.

Great hotel, great staff

Pros: Openness of the facilities taking advantage of the near perfect weather; convenience to activities, restaurants, shopping and beach.
Cons: It would be nice is there were a few English-speaking TV channels available.
Location: Its right on the main tourist street in Playa del Carmen with restaurants, shops, currency exchanges, ATMs, etc. literally just out the "door."
This was our third time staying at the Posada Mariposa Boutique Hotel and it just keeps getting better. Paying a little extra for a deluxe room is worth it in size and convenience. The housekeeping staff is very accommodating and goes out of their way to be unobtrusive. The rooms are immaculate and we love the open-air design of the lobby and public areas. Irais, Claudia and Cesar at the front desk always make being there a pleasure and are very helpful for us English-only speaking guests. It can be a little noisy on busy weekends with music from nearby clubs playing well into the early-morning hours. There is satellite TV, however, only Spanish is available.
