Clean, some friendly staff, enjoyed that there was a hot tub and sona inside. Area is a little scatchy but this hotel provides great service.

It was stinky and there were many questionable people up all night around the property.

NOT a nice area of town

Pros: It had a spa and sauna
Cons: Cleanliness. (Location and clientele terrible)
Location: Airport
We would never stay at this hotel again. Although the staff was friendly, everything else was bad. The location was not good, including clientele. We had to keep our shoes on because when walking around barefoot, our feet would get black (dirty carpet). One night, someone was repeatedly knocking on our door after we went to bed and pacing around the parking lot. Noisy car radios and revving of engines. Did not feel safe at this hotel.

Surprisingly nice for the price!

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, pleasant staff
Cons: Nothing close, pillows (mild con)
Considering my frugal price point, I really don't expect much from the places I stay at, but much to my surprise this motel was actually clean, nice, and had a decent staff. As far as I can tell my room had been recently remodeled. The furnishings and amenities are all above average (for this price point) and looked contemporary. The room included a TV, Air conditioning, alarm clock, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and a hair drier. The shower also had an adjustable massage style shower head. There was also a large hot tub/jacuzzi room next to the motel office. I gave it a try and it was very nice. As an added feature, thanks to the large windows in the room, you can watch the nearby traffic drive past. There is also a sauna, but it was being repaired at the time. The breakfast area featured coffee, orange juice, and a variety of pastries. Considering I expected nothing, this was a nice extra. And while I didn't need it, there was a computer in the office for guests to use (for printing airline boarding passes I'm guessing). While the place isn't perfect, and there are still a few signs of wear and tear from a motel this age, it appears that the remodeling and updating of the property is still going on, and the staff and management actually seem to care about the future of the place. The only "real" problem I had, if you can even call it that is that the pillows were only just okay. People staying in groups of two or more will likely want to get an extra pillow or two. And while it's location is great if you need a place kinda near the airport, or the IKEA/Cascade Station shopping area at the North end of Portland, there really isn't much right next to the motel (in walking distance)... but in an era of everyone having worldwide turn-by-turn navigation in their smartphones is this really such a big deal? Also, some travelers should note that there is a bus/transit center directly across the street. Certainly a lifesaver if I wasn't using a car. I was able to connect to their free in-room Wi-Fi on my smartphone after entering the WEP passcode and clicking through the welcome screen on my web browser. The speed appeared functional enough. If you don't have unlimited data on your digital device, any free Internet is good Internet in my book. I'll definitely consider staying here again the next time I'm in town. I just wish more value priced motels out there were as nice as this one!

Very close to the Max Line

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: Nothing close, Noisy
This hotel did not leave me feeling terribly safe as a female alone with no car, so I didn't leave after dark. However, it is super close to the Max Line and made things very easy without a car to go straight from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to my office downtown. The hotel is clean enough and staff are nice enough, however the walls are super thin and you could hear full conversations outside at all hours. One other nice thing is the morning breakfast is supplied by a little local joint across the street and gives you coffee, juice, and a pastry as part of room fee. I ordered eggs, bacon and hashbrowns for $4 though, and it was great supplemented by the free coffee and juice. Overall, the hotel is what you would expect for the neighborhood and price. I would recommend to others if they're looking for a simple, cheap place to stay that is very convenient for travel and public transportation to downtown.
