Great location and price point. Very disappointed in the poor wifi service which was basically non-existent. Room had a large mini fridge but to microwave. Staff could have been more prompt in attending to room needs. I would stay here again (as I have previously) but just wouldn’t plan on spending any time in the room except to sleep.

We paid for our room 2 months in advance, only to arrive in Mexico to a room that was inside the hotel without any windows. It was extremely depressing. So we went back to the desk and she found us an ocean view room, with a balcony but we had to pay an extra $160.00 for it. I was very upset and I felt that we were scammed. No one would stay in the depressing room!!!

Miscommunication between Travelocity and Hotel!

Pros: The pool was clean. It was a safe environment. Restaurant servers were great!
Cons: To immediately communicate with Travelocity agents when confusion arrives before to give a hard time to burned out tourism that is checking in..
Location: Supermarket, transportation, pharmacies,restaurants, malecon,shops.....
I paid extra money at the time I made a reservation to get a two king size bedroom assuming that it will be for 2 adults.I also called a Travelocity agent and confirmed that it will be in an agreement with the hotel fees.At the time my sister came in first to check in, she was forced to pay a day charge plus tax even thought it was already paid off for her and me to stay for a week. The hotel front desk lady didn't let check in to enter the room. She forced her to paid double saying that a double room was for one adult? When I arrived I recalled Travelocity agent Eve. She clarified and renegotiated once again that a double bedroom is for 2 adults and even for four. After being on the phone FOR 4 HOURS on our first-day vacation, the Hotel Pescador manager gave my sister her money back and stopped charging us for her staying in same room.

Back to Puerto Vallarta after many yrs

Pros: Location and staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: Updating some rooms
Location: Great location for walking and catching the buses. Good, quiet restaurants near by.
My location at El Pescador was great for both day trips and walking the Malecon. The staff were friendly and helpful. Get a room ocean/pool side for a great night breeze. Looking forward to staying there again.

We were very impressed with the overall resort, its location, cleanliness and all the friendly staff!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, right on the beach, very clean
Cons: my first earthquake
This trip was a sisters vacation. We spent about half our time at the resort sunning by the pool, visiting with other vacationers and the other half out on tour. The staff was very helpful with tours and what was happening in the surrounding areas so that we could decide as what to do and where to go . Thank you for a most memorable week.

Very nice and non-tourist-y, great location, relaxing.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
I was a little hesitant to book here because of the 2 star AAA rating, but all other customer reviews were good, so I did. And I wasn't disappointed. The hotel was pleasant and clean with a wonderful "Hacienda-style" decor (to this northeasterner), very well located, and, best of all, not stuffed with tourists. It attracts a nice mix of local and foreign visitors. It's location right on the beach was wonderful (we could hear the waves breaking all night long) and, because it isn't located near the resort-type places, the beach was never crowded. Yet, in just a 5 minute walk, you're on the Malecon, which is tourist-y yet fun. The hotel has a service desk where you can sign up for tours (if you're into that), but you can also rent a car in the lobby (Enterprise) and they'll bring the car to you. But I''d only rent to drive out of Vallarta; the city is easy to maneuver on foot. I very much enjoyed this hotel and will probably book there again.

Great value for price and location

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: bring a watch no clocks in the room, beds are little better than sleeping on plywood, beach/pool towel not provided bring/buy your own
The El Pescador is not fancy like many of the all inclusive or more "touristy" hotels, but is clean (to Mexico's standards), simple, and has an awesome location. It has a decent pool, is right on the beach and the ocean view balconies are cheap to upgrade to. The biggest advantage to staying there is the location. You are in the heart of downtown PV. You can walk to all the great restaurants and clubs, and don't have to waste a lot of money on cab fares like you do if you stay in Nuevo Vallarta and are trapped by all mega resorts and other tourists. If you plan on spending a lot of time at your hotel, you probably want to upgrade to a fancier place. But if you just want a clean place to sleep, an ocean view in the evening, a pool to hop in when you need it, and walking distance to just about everything, the Pescador has everything you need.

Exactly What We Were Hoping For!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We wanted an inexpensive place to stay that was on the beach and close to the Malecon. We got exactly that and we are very happy with our experience! This was our first time visiting Puerto Vallarta and since we were only able to stay one night we wanted the best of everything there was to offer. We enjoyed our stay in El Pescador and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be close to everything. The breakfast could have been hotter but who cares! We still loved it! I should have brushed up on my Spanish but the front desk personnel helped me out and it wasn't an issue. There were many things to see and do within a nice walking distance from El Pescador. Thanks!
