simple-lovely shared patios

Pros: lovely open hallways with rattan loungers and an open shared patio for al fresco dining; great manager with very good English
Cons: fitting of doors and functional doorknobs- our bedroom door wouldnt shut and it was the only room with an airconditioner...wasted energy and an inconv
Location: right in the heart of Cortecito beach- restos, tourist shopping, booze shops in abundance and snack shops, hair brading massages and manicure shops
Depending on perspective obviously, this would probably rate high for a backpacker, rock bottom for a seasoned Four Seasons hotel goer. Its not perfect, but noone spending this little on a hotel in the location should expect more. It has a dedicated path to the beach 30 metres away, is sanwiched between a few luxury all-inclusive hotels and local tourist shops vying for Western dollars (expect to be approached by every shopseller you pass by), and offers a 10% discount at the idyllic but diminutive resto across the street and directly on the powdery white sand (La Dolce Vita). Our room had a bare necessities kitchen, a tiny sitting area with a balcony 3 feet deep which was a waste of a bacony given the concrete wall one foot beyond it, and a nice bedroom. Doors didnt shut properly, nor did the TV, some of the blinds were broken...but as a seasoned backpacker and luxury hotel lover both I am adaptable and so none of its flaws took away from the lovely shared patios, the heat and the spirit of the place. For the price, I would definitely go back.
