This place looks nothing like the pictures. It definitely needs a remodel as its probably about 15 years outdated. You have to check everything out, including hairdryers. No big deal, but that coupled with the need to take a picture of your driver's license for "saftey reasons" at check in tells you the kind of issues they have. Most disappointing was the smell of the place. It was bad enough to wake us up in the middle of the night. The consistent mix of weed, cat litter, and trash paired well with the car air fresheners hung off the hall lights. It was suprisingly relatively clean despite the smell. Pro tip, if you have animal allergies, take a floor upstairs as the first floor is pet ally (shout out to the bulldog we met named Piglet). This place shows rated as a three star hotel, though I'm not sure how. Staff was accomidating and they try to make your stay nice. Don't think I'd stay again, or I'd at least bring some incense like the room across from us did. The Nag Champa was a welcome relief.

      • Disliked: Staff & service

Absolutely not built to insulate from the noise outside or between rooms. The room above mine was ridiculously loud, you could hear every step taken and every conversation. The front desk help was very difficult to locate and they never once answered the phone.

Over the years I have use Extended Stay America for many business trips to project site cities. The accommodations and the amenities of a mini apartment were wonderful back then. That was then, the Reno facility was an extreme disappointment. It first started with the attitude and behavior of a non management staff person at the front desk. From what I could tell she was responsible for the housekeeping as she was dealing with the laundry in the back room. Very poor attitude and really didn't want to be bothered and put me off. When we were able to check in, the staff person was very pleasant. When we went to our room, it looks fine. New bedding, the bed was made and tidy. The kitchen and bathroom where clean. Once we got settled, I was going to make some coffee. At that point we discovered the room was completely missing of all amenities of an extended stay. No coffee pot, no utensils, flatware, or dining supplies. So I went to the front desk to inquire as to why this was so. I encountered a third new person at the desk and was told that their policy was to only have 30% of these amenities available at their facilities now. And if you wanted those things you had to ask for them. Not even standard coffee pot, coffee and creamer like a standard hotel room where afforded to us.I'm not too sure if it's just an isolated situation with this facility in Reno, Nevada, but if this is a corporate of decision it is the wrong direct.
