Upon entering the hotel there is a musty smell. Almost as if no air is let into the building at all. We stayed on the second floor. The carpeting was old looking and the entire hallway smelt like someone had smoked in their room and they tried to cover up the smell with something, too that off with an old carpet smell. Our room had two queen sized beds, and was incredibly tiny! There were stains on the walls that looked like old grease stains from something. On the other side of the wall there was something that looked like crusted old food, or possibly boogers. Our blanket had a cigarette burn hole and appeared to be a very old blanket that they have been using since the hotel opened. The furniture paint was scrapped and scratched. No fridge or microwave. Towels had a dusty old smell that made me not want to dry myself off with it. Water pressure was terrible. The only good thing about our room were the pillows. They were quite comfortable. Other than that, none of us wanted to walk around barefooted in that place. Carpet in room was old and had a smell. There were old dead bugs in windowsills, windows themselves were smudged and dirty. We honestly hated this room and hated our stay. We stayed here to go to Carowinds and thought it would be great because of how close they are. Location is awesome, but the hotel needs to work on cleanliness for sure. Would NOT recommend unless every other hotel is booked up and you’re absolutely desperate.

Room was dirty. Took 30 minutes to check in. Is advertised as being walking distance from Carowinds but is definitely not walkable. Hallways and common areas smelled of Marijuana!

At first there was an issue with my room when I first checked in but the wonderful staff got it sorted out and me into another room in almost an instant, as well as reactivating my key cards when I accidentally unmagnetized them. The shower was very roomy, the rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable.
