Could Not Have Been Happier

Pros: Everything; but especially the people.
Cons: Loved it just the way it is.
Location: Well situated for casual walks around city to see local attractions: Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, churches. Need transport for Colosseum & Vatican.
Beautiful boutique hotel tucked in off of busy Piazza Barbarini. Common area (lobby, dining room, etc.) all decorated in quiet elegance. We had a wonderful time in Italy. Rome was, well, Rome was ROME; old, exciting, stunning, and most welcoming. The city is replete with ancient ruins accidentally unearthed during modern-day excavations. The weather was a gamble at this time of year (mid-to-end of March) but we were blessed with a week of rainless, sunny days although the first two days were very windy and chilly (low 50's F) but we were prepared for that. The rest of the week was gorgeous. Went on a day trip to Firenze, tour and high speed rail road. Great city full of incredible art and charm. Very warm environment. Had very enjoyable trip and hotel was an important part of that. Rooms were well equipped with modern facilities although a bit on the small side (by USA standards). Typical European size rooms. The breakfast was exquisite and most of all, the personnel were incredible. They simply didn't know what else they could do to make you happy. THEY WERE GREAT.

Best Experience

Location: It was close walking distance to great shopping, the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps
The hotel and the staff was amazing. They were so kind and accommodating as they would help assist with absolutely anything we needed. Since we traveled from the US our flight got in around 10am, I advised them of this prior to our trip and when we go there our room was already ready which is so nice after being on a plane for that long! My husband's luggage was also lost which the staff offered to help with and contact the airlines for the follow up which added a lot of relief so we could enjoy ourselves instead of staying on the phone. We received a plate of fruit in the room on arrival, a handwritten note with chocolates since they knew it was our anniversary, as well as a plate of sweets with a handwritten note on our last was beautiful and you could not ask for better service.

Hotel Barocco - great hotel, fantastic location

Pros: The location is fantastic, the staff are cordial and helpful and the daily breakfast is delicious.
Cons: The bathroom needs better lighting and the option of softer pillows should be provided.
Location: The hotel is in easy walking distance of most of the sights in central Rome and near a Metro station.
My husband and I spent a week in Rome (11/1/17-11/7/17) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We booked our trip via Travelocity and chose the Hotel Barocco for our stay based on positive reviews from various sites. The Barocco is a lovely, small hotel in an ideal location near the Trevi Fountain and very close to the Metro station at Piazza Barberini. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere from here except the Vatican and that was just a 15 minute train ride away. We stayed in a Deluxe King room which was on the smallish side but this is to be expected in European hotels. The bed and pillows are quite firm which may not be to everyone's liking. I had no problems sleeping since I was tired from walking for miles every day. The rooms must be very well insulated because we heard neither our neighbors nor the traffic. The hotel staff was very helpful with making dinner recommendations and checking on tour availability. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious and varied and there were also a nice selection of items that could be ordered from the menu. We would gladly stay at the Hotel Barocco on our next trip to Rome. Highly recommended!

Great hotel! Great location!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We really enjoyed the hotel, the staff were great and the breakfast is wonderful. The staff helped us orient ourselves to the location in Rome, helped us with scheduling tours and were just friendly and wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. Most sights are within walking distance of the hotel if you are a walker. This hotel is around the corner from the Via Veneto and on the Piazza Barbarini. Despite this, it was quiet for being in a high traffic area of Rome. The breakfast is terrific. Lots of choices and the ability to order omelettes as well. Wait staff is friendly and helpful.
