I only stayed here for 1 night before my flight home. All of the common areas, like the bar and reception were nice and clean. They provide a good breakfast in the morning which was a nice benefit. My room was just ok. One outlet was broken under the desk so the hot water maker did not work, my drain cover in the bathroom was broken, the bedding felt worn & old, and the air conditioner made an awful rattling sound that kept me up most of the night. Otherwise, everyone working at the hotel was very nice, helpful, accomodating, and welcoming. It was just "ok." I would definately choose another, nicer accomodation if I come on holiday to Roma again.

Property was lovely. We had a room on the seventh floor with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city with a partial view of the colosseum. Air conditioning was great! Highly recommend this hotel.

This was are second time to stay at Hotel Colosseum. The first time was just my wife and I, but this time we brought a small group with us. The staff was very helpful and we especially thank Diego and Gregorio. The breakfast in the morning delicious. They opened early to accommodate us with our scheduled tours. We found the location to be very centrally located. If you want mints on your pillow this is not the place. But if you want a good clean value, I highly recommend.

Quality stay

This hotel was within walking distance of Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore. Where there was a taxi stand and the rates were fairly cheap. It cost us about 20 Euro to go from there to Vatican City. There were a couple restaurants located right around the hotel. The hotel was within walking distance from the Colosseum, it took about 10 minutes to walk there from this hotel. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was okay its standard European breakfast so people who would like an American breakfast you won’t find it here.

Great hotel near the middle of Rome

Pros: The Concierge was VERY helpful with the surrounding area and all our questions! Very quiet!
Location: Monti area has many great restaurants. Colosseum 10-15 minute walk. Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore less than 1 mile away. Termini 10-15 min. walk
Great Hotel with very knowledgable and friendly staff. Hotel is an easy 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is right down the road. Rooftop for sunset is a must and my wife and I enjoyed the amazing views of Rome with wine and snacks! Breakfast was limited but it was a perfect way to start the day, very Roman. Be sure to check out the surrounding Monti area and it's amazing restaurants! Perfect stay only wish it could have been longer!

Bang for the buck!

Pros: Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Fast and Reliable Internet
Cons: Lol....Cold Milk (this was the ONLY thing my 19 year old son could find "wrong"...
Location: Small, quiet street across fro a church. Colosseum, Basillica, Roman Forum, and Train Terminal all a short walk away...
This hotel is what you want staying in Rome! Quite location near the train terminal and several major attractions. The room we had was small, but very clean and if you really want to appreciate Rome, you will be putting 15,000 steps on your "Fitbit" every day and will just want a place to sleep. Bathroom was also very small, but meticulously clean and modern. The staff was always friendly and willing to help. The conceriege spike perfect English and was very helpful when you needed assistance. The breakfast provided is the standard European fair and once again, the ladies who keep the buffet and tables clean were very nice. For you Americans the lack of "cold milk" might be a little off putting, and the choice of food different the you would have at home...but you aren't at home, and no apologies are necessary - it was nice! The rooftop terrace is very nice, but don't plan on using it during your stay if you come from October - the end of March.....definitely a warm weather area. They have a room to store your luggage on the day of arrival and day of departure....We could not have had a more satisfying experience!! Molto Bene!! Thank you to the entire staff!!

Hotel Coliseum in November

Pros: The décor and staff were both excellent.
Cons: The bed was hard and elevator small.
Location: Lots of great eating in five minutes only 5 to 10 minutes to many popular tourist destinations. A metro was only a couple of blocks.
This is a charming building with lots of marble. The room had marble floors/ We loved the décor and location. It was only a 5 min walk to the Coliseum, Forum and several other tourist destination. A metro stop was only a couple blocks away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The value was outstanding. Only things negative were the elevator and bed. The elevator was very small, but worked well. The bed was hard, by our standards, but still acceptable. The roof had an excellent view and really made for a nice afternoon--after we had walked ourselves half to death trying to get in everything in just a few days.

Wonderful hotel and staff!

Pros: Location on quiet side street, clean, Italian charm feel, nice breakfast, views of city, staff helpful and friendly.
Cons: Nothing can be improved. It was an excellent hotel!
Location: Close to Colosseum, Roman Forum, stores, churches, restaurants, other historical buildings
It was our first visit out of the U.S. Hotel Colosseum staff were wonderful! Before we even arrived, I emailed them with questions and they responded quickly. They helped us set up tours, scheduled drivers to and from airport, and answered basic" first timers" questions. Our room was excellent! Top floor with a huge balcony which we did not expect at all! The room was bigger then we expected. The entire hotel was very, very clean. They seem to be cleaning all the time! All the staff were friendly and helpful. They also have a rooftop deck which gives you a wonderful view of the city, including the Colosseum. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

You Get What You Pay For

Pros: Clean. Price
Cons: Noisy. Slow elevator. Better coffee.
Location: Walking distance to the Colosseum. A decent walking/shopping/dining street nearby. Not too far from subway. On a quiet street.
Location in this area is quite at least. Not all that convenient. After being in Rome I would look closer to the Spanish Steps - better neighborhood & closer all the things you want to do. That being said this place is clean and well run - for what it is. And it is a bit "lost in time". It's a classic European small 3 star older hotel. This means the elevator is very small and really slow, you can hear everything happening all around you, and it has one of those mounted heater/AC units above the bed. We felt very lucky our neighbors were quiet. The bed was firm, comfortable, and reasonably large - but we like that. It's not "luxurious" by any means. The place is very clean. There is a very small safe mounted in the wall and the rooms aren't as small as some we've stayed in in larger cities. There was a very small TV with mostly obscure European programming if that's important to you. Basically this is a great place for the budget minded. Basic. Clean. The front desk staff is as good as the google connection. They were nice enough - but it felt like this was their "second job". The free breakfast is really basic - hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, toast, cereal, juice. The roof top terrace is what it looks like and could be fun. Basically the hotel did the job for a few days - a place to sleep and shower. We were not unhappy. And with the money we saved we ate like Emperors!
