We loved all the walking and close to town restaurant options.

Lake Natoma Inn is located on the waterfront and in an area with good shopping. Folsom History Museum and Three Stages Visual and Performing Arts Center are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit Historic Folsom and Folsom Premium Outlets. Folsom City Zoo and Sacramento State Aquatic Center are also worth visiting.
A nice hotel and a very quiet room, considering the place was packed with families there for an evening wedding. I was a bit worried when the kids started running for the pool area, but they were all tucked in and quiet by 9. The room was very comfortable, and I was happy to find my window actually opened, so I could enjoy some fresh air and the sound/smell of rain outside. I think the tiny "bar & grill" could use some work. It's lit up with extremely bright lights, so there goes any cozy dinner ideas, and the menu is...bar food. You want fried? You GOT IT! The bar staff were all very nice and attentive. It's an easy walk up into Old Town Folsom, a bit of an uphill but well worth it. Oh, and the hotel's parking lot is very nice, well lit (not as well as the bar, though!) and felt quite secure.
