Check in is at 4pm. We arrived at 5:30pm and was told our room wasn’t ready, they were short staffed and had no clue when the room would be ready. Finally, at 6:30pm, the room was ready. The 4 of us and all our luggage headed up. Room was clean except toilet wasn’t flushing well and paint chipped off the wall, huge chunks. They did give us a credit on the room but nothing replaces the time lost.

It's got nothing to do with the property itself, but the area around it. That part of the Riverwalk is run down and dirty, I don't know if it will be remodeled but it's very sad to look at. I was here in the Riverwalk prime days and it was beautiful full of life and people now this part of it it's just sad to look at.

Great room, TERRIBLE hotel
Not sure what hotel thinks it's a good idea to do construction INSIDE THE HOTEL starting at 7AM on a weekend. And then continuing throughout the day until 6PM. Wanna sleep in? Not here! Let's not forget how they don't tell you they only have valet so either find a parking garage or pay their $50 valet fee so they can park a car in an open lot. Who doesn't love a car that you give to valet freshly cleaned and then comes back covered in bird crap! The inside of the room was very clean and nice though.

We stayed with our adult, kids and grandkids in two rooms on the same floor. While we were disappointed that there was no natural light in our room. The larger room had nice windows with good light. They were comfortable sheets and pillows and lots of fluffy towels. In particular Sonia at the front desk was very helpful to us as a family, and the best meal we had in San Antonio, at Boudan, was her recommendation. The cost of parking is very high, which is probably the second most inconvenient thing. The first most inconvenient is no restaurant, or even bar in the hotel and the closest place being on the Riverwalk, where things are quite expensive at night. It’s too far to walk with little kids . Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and particularly the kind people who helped us with housekeeping.
