Back to school shopping Trip

Pros: It was close to all the areas that I wanted to get to.
Cons: They need to clean better and make sure there are not furry critters running around for the occupants to find.
Location: This motel was in the Alamo Heights area. It was only 15 minutes from North Star Mall and the Airport.
While the motel looked like they were doing some updating, the actual stay left a lot to be desired. First, when I got there and got my room key I went to my room and the key wouldn't work. Then when I go back and get a new key I open my door and ended up screaming because there was a rat running across the room just as I opened the door. So they get us a new room.(its right next door so I'm a little skeptical)So I go into the new room and we unload our stuff. The first thing we try to do is lock the door. And the door doesn't want to lock. We go tell the guy in the office and he says "its ok the door doesn't open from the outside without a key"...I'm in shock by this point and I'm like no... I won't stay in a room that doesn't deadbolt from the inside. So he said that he'd send someone to fix it. By this point I'm looking for somewhere else to stay it took a good 10 minutes before someone came to fix it. So we decided to stay. We left to go do some running around and to grab dinner to bring back and eat and by the time we came back it was around 10 pm and we were going to turn on the TV to have some background noise while we were eating only to find there was no remote. While there was a refrigerator and microwave in this room, the fridge didn't have any shelves and when I opened the microwave the thing was filthy from the inside. There was grease caked on and leftover popped meat of some kind still on the bottom. Overall, This was the worst stay that we have ever had.

The property has a great curb appeal.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, newly renovated
The rooms were nicely remodled. The staff is extra nice. Location is very neutral. Wifi worked great. Nice restaurants within walking distance. I would advice all my friends to use this place. I will.

Horrible customer service

Cons: nasty!!!!
I paid for a non-smoking room and ended up getting a smoking room and when I told the manager he just said "I'm sorry that's all we have available". I would not recommend anyone to stay here I rather pay more money than to stay at this dump. To top it off the manager or owner was very RUDE and had no customer service skills. The sheets had holes in them from smokers and everything in the room was dirty and falling apart. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.....

this was the worst hotel ive ever been to!

Cons: Poor breakfast
They left dirty wash clothes in the shower. There was still hair and dirt in the shower from someone else. The sheets had green stuff all over them! The room had an odd smell to it. I felt dirty and disgusting even after my shower. I will never stay at another knights inn EVER!

Bad choice

This place was a pig sty; I would not let my dogs stay in those rooms. The sheets were filthy on both beds, we had to go to the night window and request clean sheets. The carpet was dirty and smelled. The bathroom was a total disaster there was dirt on the floor. The walls in the rooms were painted dark blue that made it ever darker in there. We had to stay the first night because it was late however we checked out early the next morning and found another hotel for that night. This was not an isolated case. We had three rooms are they were all the same. We will never stay at this location again.

Disgusting experience - Rooms smelled bad and dirty carpet

Very bad experience. I arrived 10:00 pm on Jul and I was assigned two rooms. However, one of the two non-smoking rooms smelled very bad (the one in the ground floor), and the other had the carpet too dirty (the one in the first floor). I know I cant be too demanding based on their rate, but the odor was like trying to hide a bad smell with a guava deodorant so the combination was disgusting. I requested a change of rooms but there were no other available. Then I refused to stay in the rooms and I requested to cancel the reservation, but the man in charge told me that it was no possible, so I was charge with one night for each room. I had to look for another hotel at that time. I finally stayed at La Quinta Hotel. This is not the first time I stay at a two stars hotel, and I know that very low rate normally compromises quality, but in this case the sacrifice was fatal specially on cleanliness. Be aware that this is a franchise, so the hotel is owned by a local company.
