Great value... Wonderful plase to stay.. Would have been nice to have another blanket in the room along with a coffee maker. Still a great value. I will stay there again.

Bait and Switch

Going through Travelocity, I reserved a room at Extended Stay America in San Mateo, CA with 2 queen beds, over one month in advance of my travel which was March 16 to 21, 2017 and I paid for it in advance at the time of booking. Nevertheless, I got a voicemail message from the hotel manager less than 24 hours before check-in, saying that my room was no longer available due to a "maintenance" problem. When I called back, they said they could give me a room with one King bed instead but I said this was not acceptable. The best they could do was give me a room at Extended Stay America in Belmont, CA which had the 2 queen beds I required. They had me over a barrel since I was flying from Newark NJ to San Francisco early the next morning with no other alternative lodging, so I said yes but that I wanted to be compensated for the inconvenience. The manager said he would comp me one night but never did. The property in Belmont, CA was on a highway frontage road, I could not go anywhere without driving, and they did not even offer housekeeping because my stay was less than 7 days - mine was 5 days. This was the worst trip I ever took and I would never stay at an Extended Stay America property ever again. I am still recovering from an illness I came down with on my trip (not the hotel's fault, to my knowledge), but when I feel better I intend to ask both Travelocity and Extended Stay America to compensate me for this disastrous experience.

Good value for the Bay Area

Pros: Good price
Location: In Foster City.
Right next to 101 so it was a bit noisy. No coffee pot but did have a small kitchen. No elevator and I had a large heavy suitcase that I had to carry up the stairs. Overall good value for the money. About 10 minutes from the airport. Would stay there again but book a room on the ground floor.

Hotel looked nice.

After ariving we turned down the bed to take a nap. The blanket had blood on it! I returned the blanket to the office. Ithe front office was not apologetic just said ..."that happens " and gave us a different blanket.

The worst place I have ever stayed

We were to a great start, one of my friends and I decided to share a hotel Room, since we were going to meet with some other friends from High school. Well we had our hotel and we were excited to meet our other high school friends that were coming from SoCal. The place was decent looking, when we got to our room it stinks like Curry, we complained with the front desk personnel and gave us the lamest excuse when we request to be transferred into another room; and told us that the cleaning staff were already gone for the day and they could not do anything. The smell at the mace was unbearable, to the point wereshehadto go to the room and verify herself our complaint. We had to go to the store and purchase a glade deodorizer spray, to at least be able to stay in the room; needless to say we finish the whole spray bottle and the smell was still there. The bathroom was supposedly clean, it wasn't! ....we would have request our money back, but it was a Valentine's day evening, and we wouldn't had found any availability. I do not recommend that place to anyone. This has been one of the worst experiences in my traveling life.

This place is disgusting

We arrived to find our "nonsmoking" room smelled like an ashtray and only after refusing to sleep in it did they move us to another room that didn't smell like an ashtray but instead smelled like a urinal. The place was filthy. The carpet was so vile and dirty we didn't want the bottom of our feet or even our shoes to touch it. Even inside of the cabinets smelled. There was hair around the bathroom. There was no service to clean the rooms or make the beds (which was not explained when we booked the room nor when we checked in). The place felt more like a welfare hotel or a homeless shelter than it did a $*/night hotel. The staff was incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful -- almost implying that the problems were our fault.

Worst ever!!!!!

This is the worst ever - here's a list of the things wrong: sink and bathtub drains plugged, 4 people booked in room and there were 2 glasses and 3 mugs, double mattress pads placed on queen sized beds, mattresses were very noisy any time you moved, mattresses, bedspreads, drapes, carpet were extremely outdated as well as dirty, no ice machines (were told that there were no ice machines because there was a refrigerator in all rooms with ice trays (ours had 2 ice trays!), the towels were were paper thin, no maid service, there was the remenants of used coffee in the coffee maker, shower curtain was filthy and the tv remote would turn the tv on but nothing else - called office and it was replaced - but still did not work. I would NEVER stay here again ever!!!!!

Disappointed

The floor in my room needed vacuuming and I found a t-shirt on the floor. The sliding mirror on the closet came off. The screws on the towel rack in my bathroom are rusted. This room is in need of repair and remodel. I was planning on staying for 4 nights but I'm checking out the next day.
