Hi Greg, great having you stay with us, and yes we are on Avenida 7 only 4 blocks from Central, the pedestrian walk street. All attractions are there. Thank you so much Cheers Thomas, Heidy and Our Staff

UGH Owner tried to downgrade me

Pros: Nice location
Cons: What a condescending jerk the owner is. NEVER go there as a single woman.
My friend could not come, so I arrived a single woman traveling alone. The owner tried to downgrade my room even though I had paid for the deluxe room. He was very nasty. I persisted since I had paid for the deluxe room. It took me several hours to get him to put me in the room quality I had paid for. The rest of the staff were great. The owner gets a ZERO.

Hi Susan, as we had an over booking problem , by my contract with Expedia, I have two options , find you another hotel in the same class and services and send you over there or try to applease you. Pretty clear I did not succede. I apologize for not being able to do that.

Pros: Location and historic ambiance.
Cons: Pumbing. Took 10 minutes to get hot water and then pressure so low couldn't wash my hair.
Location: Several major museums within 15 minutes walking.
Hotel is great for its location near museums - 15 minutes. But, staff provided incorrect information several times. Shower was barely a trickle. Would stay for the location. Great ambiance.

Hi From Florida, I apologize you received incorrect information, I wish you had listed what it was here so that I may correct the info. Sometimes if there is a slight communication problem, because of different cultures this may occur. I have already had my staff review the shower heads in the rooms they are repaired. I urge all of my clients if they have an inconvenience to please contact me personally. I am almost always there in the morning in the breakfast area from 7 to 10 am. Wonderful to know you loved the location and ambiance. Thank You Thomas

Hotel San Tomas..hidden jewel in the city

Took our honeymoon here during the week of September 16-21 and we had a wonderful time..The hotel is quaint, extremely clean and cozy with only about fifteen rooms and since we were there during the week there was not alot of people traffic, only a few friendly American couples..The rooms while small were all you need and were kept tidy daily by the staff..All the rooms are non smoking and even some of the outdoor common areas but as long as you utilize the balcony and take care to make sure the smoke is contained you are alright..The hotel has a hot tub, pool and bar & restaurant..One of my only complaints for real is that they do no financial transactions with cash and require a credit card only..With honeymoon cash burning a hole in our pocket we wish we didnt have to use our credit card at all so for that boo...any excursions, dinner or anything HAD to have a credit card though they do the conversions from colones to dollars..As far as the hotel staff they were extremely polite and tried their best to find us all the excursions we wanted and help us out, they understand English really well and were very accomodating. Overall if you are looking for a clean place with access to excursions, the city life and the central market this is a perfect place..there is also a complimentary breakfast that is pretty good.

This hotel was perfect!

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, near city center
This place is a simple local hotel with a comfy feel, and a helpful and courteous staff. The rooms are elegant and well taken care of. The city center is just down the road, therefore there are many stores, restaurants, shops, clubs, and other types of entertainment near by. It is also fairly centered on Costa Rica so the Pacific and the Caribbean and within a few hours travel. Tours can be booked right at the front office, and there is an attached restaurant, pool and hot tub to make your stay a bit more relaxing. Overall, it is a great place, and I will stay there again :)

Very accomodating and helpful staff!

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
This place is great. Easy to get to via the bus (though not recommended to take the bus at night. Just take a taxi from the airport for around $28). We didn't actually stay in San Jose for more than one night, but the owner was VERY helpful in letting us know how far it was to get to the places we wanted to go. You get a lot of different time estimates on travel because some roads that were dirt are now paved. Overall, would definitely recommend if you are looking to stay in San Jose for a few nights!
