The staff were great! Or rather, I should say the one staff member I met, who was there at 11 PM when I checked in and still there at 8:30 when I checked out, was great. The room was more or less expected. Nothing fancy, but a decent studio. The issues: * I walked in and turned on the light switch. No light, but the alarm clock (nowhere near the bed!) did turn off. The light that should have turned on was entirely unplugged, as that was the only way to turn it off, there being no switch on it. And the plug that the alarm clock was plugged into was behind the TV console. * I turned on the light next to the bed. It made a crackling sound, flickered on for an instant, and then turned off. It took me about thirty seconds of jiggling every time I wanted to turn it on. Would the room catch on fire? Exciting! * The heat or cooling (never did figure out which) hit me in the face with cold air periodically, and was also very loud when it was on. The fridge was even louder, and it NEVER TURNED OFF. I later discovered that this was because it was too close to the wall and the freezer was wedged open. Plus the pipes banged a lot. Those made for a lousy night's sleep. * In the morning, I stepped into the shower... and there was a pool of standing water in the bottom. The tub had collapsed or was mis-installed, and there was a dip. NASTY SURPRISE. * Final indignity: they advertised 'breakfast'. Granola bars and trans-fatty generic-Hostess muffins. That's just rude.
