I liked that the rooms were clean. I didn’t like that there was no amenities. For example, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryers, no coffee maker. Boiling hot water to shower in. Literally burned my skin. The setup of the room could be worked on . At least a desk or a comfy chair in there. They had the tv on a clothes rack and no drawers for your clothes. The vending machines didn’t take 5 dollar bills AND you had to figure out a way to get your snacks because it wouldn’t come down right.

The property was great. Less is more when u don't intend to spend your time in the room. Very disappointed at check-in. Left my area to avoid the smoke there. I walked in excited to visit our favorite area to find the clerk on a personal phone call . He asked my name and continued his conversation. There was no welcome for us. Sounded like a dispute maybe with roommate as he discussed when rent could be paid. He actually pointed to a chart with his pen as to where the pool was and my room was. As I left he said the restaurant opened at 5. I thought he meant breakfast. But when I went the next morning the clerk offered to make me coffee as we leaving very early. He was great.

It was ok for an overnight. It had a pool and was close to Highway 1

We were a family of 4, so we had 2 rooms. Room 1 had a strong disinfectant smell as you entered the room. The floors appeared clean but were very sticky to walk on. Room could use paint, new tube caulking since it is moldy and towels because they are like sand paper! No coffee pots, hair dryers,shampoo or tissue! Room 2 had all the same issues, along with ants, dirty linens in the shower and stained sheets. In the am we let the front desk know, they said they called to make sure the room was ok. They did call 1 of our rooms, 5 mins after check in. We checked in and left quickly for our evening activities, so we did not fully see the room conditions til 11pm. Again in the am we were told we should have said something immediately. It was the attitude of the desk that bothered me the most, along with not even an I'm sorry for any inconvenience! My recommendation, skip this place and look for better quality down the road!

Despite offering free wifi, it didn't exist. Nor was there a refrigerator in the room (in 2018)! There was an ice bucket, but it was too small for even a couple average bottles of fruit juice. The air conditioning was either freezing cold or roasting hot, necessitating frequent adjustments throughout the night.

Unimpressed

Pros: Easy access off highway. Resturant without driving.
Cons: Park outside our room. Resturant prices too pricey for the ambiance.
Location: Hearst Castle was fantastic.
Easy drive. Easy to locate. Not too impressed with staff or room. Pricey Resturant.

Remodeled Motel 6 with nice furnishings

Pros: Remodeled furnishings - cute!
Cons: Fix the ice machine.
Location: Hearst Castle
Remodel looks very nice and modern, and bed was comfortable. Having vinyl flooring instead of carpet makes the room very noisy, but feels cleaner. We were visiting Hearst Castle, and this hotel is extremely convenient for that.

nice hotel in san simeon.

Pros: least expensive of all lodging in san simeon.
Cons: too much trash in all of the trashcans around the complex. Trash was overflowing everywhere. I suggested to manager that more were needed or larger.
Location: Plenty to do. Especially enjoyed trip to ragged point and elephant seal preserve.
overall a nice place to stay and have stayed here many times before. Staff was pleasant and grounds were nicely kept. there was ample parking and facility was well lit. restaurant in hotel was convenient.
