Amazing Budget Option for Amalfi
Pros:Super friendly service, great breakfast, perfect A/C, incredible value
Cons:Not really anything they could improve, but is a bit of a walk from Sorrento.
Location:Definitely go to La Marianella (restaurant overlooking the bay) in Sant'Agnello. Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Pompeii all easily accessible.
Cannot say enough good things about Hotel Angelina. First off, the two guys who work the front desk (including the owner Paulo) are super friendly and go out of their way to help you plan your stay in the area (i.e. restaurant recommendations, how to get to/from Pompeii, Capri, Positano etc.)
The hotel itself has a beautiful patio draped by citrus trees. The included breakfast buffet was the best we had in 4 weeks in Italy, with a generous selection of fruit, yogurt, cereal, meat and cheese, and various fruit pies and cakes.
The room was also very nice, with a private bathroom, balcony and most importantly perfect A/C (it was actually so cold we didn't run it all night).
Only possible downside is that it's a 15-20 min walk to the center of Sorrento, but it's a nice walk and if you really weren't inclined to walk the train takes literally 2 min and is a 5 min walk from the hotel.
Overall, couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Amalfi if you're on any kind of budget. Be nice and you might even get a complimentary nightcap of limoncello from Paulo.
