I liked the facilities and that it was half way into the park. Didn’t like that the pathway wasn’t marked better from the lodge to our rooms. Our first night we got lost it was not a well lit path or marked.

Thank you for staying with us. We apologize that you had such frustrations getting to your guest room. It is our standard to offer bell services and I apologize if that was not offered. I will pass this along to management.

The property was okay. It was disturbing that they did not have our reservation and I had to call you and wait around until it was straightened out.

Great location - but not many amenties

Pros: Location, location, location! The food in the restaurant was also very good.
Cons: The reservation thing for dinner was a hassle, and the fact that there was so much construction at the lodge was unfortunate.
Location: 2 miles to the main stop of Lodgepole, which is the jumping off point for all your Sequoia adventures.
You couldn't ask for a better location in Sequoia than Wuksachi Lodge. Located 2 miles from Lodgepole (which is where they have a marketplace, grill, and the shuttle for the other Sequoia attractions), Wuksachi is right where you want to be located in the park. The lodge itself and the room was clean, but unfortunately when we were there in July 2018, they were under construction on the grounds, both in front of the lodge and next to the dining room. This really takes away from the experience, and I was surprised they were doing the work during peak season? The lodge itself has very little when it comes to amenities. There is a restaurant on site that actually had great food at a mid-level price. The downside is you need to book reservations for dinner, so unless you get them in early, you will find yourself eating at either 5:00 or 8:00. There is not much else to do at the lodge. No pool or game room or anything like that. That may not be an issue for most since the main reason to visit Sequoia is to be in the park, but for people who like to break up their adventures with a day at the resort, there is nothing to do at this one. They did have a nice stargazing retreat at night which was provided free of cost, and that was a lot of fun. In terms of the rooms, be aware that they do not have A/C, just window and ceiling fans. Since it was Summer when we were at the lodge, it was pretty warm during the day and the room was stuffy. Thankfully it cooled down enough at night.

Thank you Jeremy for your great review. I apologize for the construction but in the winter months we deal with snow and road closures. The construction inside the lodge is completed and now the deck outside the lodge is next which also done during the season as the ground freezes pretty solid in the winter months. Thank you for staying with us and I hope that we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Poor management...

Stayed at this hidden gem 12/12-14. Its nice to have a "decent" place to stay at within a national park. HOWEVER, they decided to perform some upkeeps to the lodges; although it makes complete sense to do this during off peak season, they have failed to 1. have any warnings chemicals will be used; such as paint thinners 2. NO ventilation where areas of chemicals are used - windows kept closed in the halls and doors also closed 3. starting the construction at 8:30AM 4. Failed to place all guests in 1/3 or 2/3 lodges and work on one lodge at a time 5. upon expressing a complaint at check out (after having headaches, nausea, and swollen eyes/face due to the chemicals) everyone whom I talked to from the front desk to the executive chef of the lodge were extremely nice ...EXCEPT the manager. I left my number and email for the manager to reach me. I waited long enough in the lobby to have the chance to speak with him, but he was in a meeting. WHICH WAS FINE, but he should have contacted me. It has now been over 48 hours since I left the premise and I have yet to hear from management. This is simply a case of gross negligence. Its a beautiful get-away to enjoy mother nature. The last thing I had expected was to be sleeping with fumes the whole night that resulted in severe discomfort for me and my pups. Any time they passed the halls, they sneezed. I do not wish this kind of experience on anyone, especially at a national park.

Loved my stay!

Pros: The location and the staff!
Location: It's in a beautiful wilderness so all you have to do is get outside and enjoy!!!
I made a very last minute trip to Sequoia National Park. The Lodge is a beautiful place to rest. The wonderful staff added to the beauty of the environment. Even thought I arrived just as the restaurant was closing they made sure I had a to go dinner to take to my room.

This hotel was very convenient for sightseeing around Sequoia National Park.

Not that great of an experience. Food in the restaurant was good, but very pricey & the service was just okay.

Stay away from bar and restaurant

Pros: Quiet
Cons: restaurant and bar
My girl friend and I spend a couple of night at Wuksachi Lodge 2nd week of July 2012. Following is our observations: Restaurant price is very high and quality of the food is incredibly poor. Avoid the restaurant. Bar prices are also very high. It is a highway robbery. A/C in the room was noisy and inadequate. Room was OK. Staff is friendly. ADVICE: Load up your car with beer, wine, drinks and food. STAY AWAY from Wuksachi restaurant and bar.

Too expensive

Pros: none
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Poor breakfast
Rate was expensive. Restaurant was awful. My server was unattentive and I ended up paying for the entree portion of the ravioli when I had specifically ordered the appetizer portion. They should take the cheese platter off the menu because the "crackers" and "cheese" I got were stale and flavorless. French onion soup is generally served with baguette and cheese on top, I was served only the broth. The reataurant tries to be five star but they fail horribly. The room was good but still too expensive. Walls are thin, I could hear all my neighbors.
