Nice Hotel, but staff rude

Actually the hotel is nice and also the location is quite nice. Unluckily the staff is partly not able to communicate in english, they have also (partly) a very rude behaviour.  Half of the in-room - dining was not aviable.  Finally to say that the cleaness in the rooms are not the best. The shower was some kind of mushrooms.  When we was back in the evening even the minibar was not refilled. We should call the houskeeping for that. Considering they claim 5 stars I cannot agree with that.

Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, clean non smoking rooms, breakfast buffet worth paying for, great central location, helpful courteous staff
Cons: No free Internet
My husband and I spent over one month at this hotel visiting Shanghai during Chinese New years this January. Sometimes when only staying at a hotel a few days, you do not get to experiece the actual operation of the staff for more than a few moments of interaction at meals and check in Staying longer gives you a better idea of the consistency of the staff and the facility. We were fortunate in our choice of this hotel as they absolutely exceeded all of our expectations First of all, the staff greeting us at check in were excellent. I think we received a room upgrade because we were staying so long, but because it was unexpected, it was even more appreciated. The rooms are nicely appointed, very clean , comfortable and quiet. Our housekeeping staff were so courteous and accommodating as to fixing up the room or getting something for you (a travel converter for the electronics, for example). Our room came with the breakfast buffet and no matter how late we came in the night before, we never missed this buffet. They had everything you could imagine, fresh hand squeezed juices, eastern and western choices, a chef to make any eggs or waffles you wished and they added additional items as the days passed. Their two food managers were on site almost every morning making sure things ran smoothly. Their wait staff was so excellent that within a few days of seeing us at the buffet, they already had our cappuccinos and warm soy milk ready for us when we arrived. Kudos especially to our most helpful associate, Lawson, whose grasp of English was so good, it was always a pleasure to see him in the dining room. If you are looking for a fabulous hotel in the best part of town, with personalized service with a smile, look no further. We have stayed at other hotels in shanghai which were considerably more expensive but none of them came close to the service we exprienced at this hotel.

Conveniently located and good service

This hotel is modern and well equiped. Prices are reasonable. Breakfasts are great. Lighting in the room is well designed, but bath room's glass wall;some rooms equipped with screen, some without; made it too bright when one person goes to the bath room while the other person is still sleeping.
