Nice alternative to the expensive golf hotels

My husband and I (both in our mid-thirties) spent 2 nights at the Albany in October 2008 while in St Andrews for a wedding. It was in a convenient location, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was very good. Our room was quiet and overlooked a lovely garden. It was clean, comfortable and though the bathroom was very small there was ample hot water. We enjoyed our visit and would stay there again.
