Much appreciation for making your voice heard. On Travelocity, under policies, it does state verbatim "A cash deposit for incidental charges and government-issued photo identification are required upon check-in," and under fees, it states "Cash deposit: USD 50.00 per stay." We apologize you didn't feel well informed, but we always make our policies and fees known so guests can decide if we're a good option for their budget and travel plans. We do apologize that our accommodations failed to impress, and we appreciate you highlighting where we need to focus our improvement efforts.
