Room size was about what I expected for the price. Could use some updating, but wasn’t in too bad of shape. My main complaint was that the bedding in our room clearly had not been changed before our stay. There were make up marks and loose hairs all over the sheets. I had to use 2 lint roller sheets to get all the hair off them. The front desk hours are from 3-10 pm, so by the time we got back to the room for the night, and also the next morning when we left, there was no staff to complain to. So I waited until I got back home and I called travelocity to complain. The travelocity agent decided he wanted to connect me to the hotel so I could explain the issue to them. The hotel manager did not realize the I had been connected to the line and was in the middle of trash talking me. He was saying that we are the type of customers who eat a whole meal and then complain they want a refund afterwards. Not only is that extremely stupid and unprofessional, but also just not true! The room was cheap and I did not expect much, but I do expect clean sheets no matter where I stay! We would have complained directly to the hotel, but they had weird hours and were not there when we were! So the hotel manager finally said “Well what do you want me to do about it?!” I told him I would like at least a partial refund, which by this point I actually wanted all of my money back because I didn’t want to support a business who doesn’t appreciate their customers. He agreed to give half back. 1/10

Univiting

Pros: Walking distance to Hyde Park amenities and Bayshore Blvd.
Cons: It would take a major renovation.
Location: Restaurants, taverns and shoppes in abundance with walking distance. Very close to Bayshore Blvd.
Aging hotel. Small and cramped. Cold, uncomfortable environment. My wife became ill and did not feel as if she could heal while in this room.

Little Gem

Pros: Homey and friendly
Cons: For the way it is set up I can't think of anything that is significant.
Location: Close to South Howard and the action that goes with it. Great restaurants and bars to find what makes you happy! Close to downtown by cab as well.
We loved the location of this hotel as it was close to most everything in SOHO. Yes it is not the swanky digs you would get downtown, but it is just perfect for the price. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to park and get in and out as we prepared for a college graduation. I would stay here again for sure.

Just okay

Pros: location
Cons: central a/c further away from traffic noise
Location: Great for south Tampa
So you get what you pay for but only marginally, it was okay, clean certainly. I guess I was expecting a bit more but don't stay on the right side of the building, constant traffic noise all night from the expressway and the in the wall a/c was very loud as well so had to turn it off and cook.

Very accomadating

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
My family and I stayed here in the beginning of April. The location was so pretty and an easy walk to many restaurants. The check-system is really creative, as there's no need to stop by the office when checking in or out of the hotel. The staff is not always there because the hotel is very small, however I was easily able to get in touch with them when I had a question through the touch of a button on the intercom. Some of the attractions we visited during our stay were Ybor City, the Aquarium, St. Pete's Time Forum, International Mall, the downtown area, and the beach. We actually enjoyed just hanging out around the hotel, seeing there were delicious "hidden secrets" all around. There's no pool, but the beach is a pretty, scenic, 30 minute drive away. Overall, this Hotel was very affordable and well worth the stay! I would definitely come again. PS -- The internet was free and really fast, unlike many hotels I've stayed at..

All of the staff were enthusiastic and attentive.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
One night after returning from dinner my husband and I were going to have a drink at the bar. The restaurant had closed early that evening because of unusually cold weather. The bar manager allowed us to purchase drinks to bring to our room. The owner however wanted him to serve our drinks in to go cups. The bar manager replied, "I'm not serving 18-year-old scotch in a plastic cup"!

Awesome Little Hotel

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a cozy small room, but had everything we needed. The hotel is in a great location. Just a block from several amazing resturants. When back in Tampa, we will definitely stay here again. :)
