Everything about this hotel was good. Great location, proximity of the Plaza is perfect. No driving necessary if you're looking to check out the galleries, etc. Hotel parking is directly behind hotel so easy access.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. There is nothing about it I don't like. The staff were attentive and fantastic!

Great location on Taos plaza

Pros: Enjoyed lobby ambience and art displays. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Climate control is horrible. Room temperature is centrally controlled. There was a constant stream of cold air coming into our room.
Location: Taos plaza, Taos Pueblo, Rio Grande Gorge, galleries, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, old Spanish towns, amazing scenery and hiking...
Staff service-oriented and knowledgable. Great location for walking anywhere close to plaza. Lovely old building, nicely refurbished. Comfortable. Good coffee shop off the lobby and room includes free drip coffee. Climate control is horrible. Room temperature is centrally controlled. There was a constant stream of cold air coming into our room. Closing vent caused loud hissing noise. Called desk and had them shut off airflow; it finally stopped after another 20-30 chilly minutes.

Room was small.

Pros: The coffee shop with coffee, tea, and chocolate for hotel patrons was great!
Location: Location was great. It was right on the plaza and convenient to many places.
Small room. About the size I would expect in a hotel in Europe. Bed was very comfortable, however.

Great location!

Pros: Close restaurants, decor of lobby etc., friendliness of staff
Choosing La Fonda Hotel was definately the right thing to do. We were there two nights and never had to get our car out. Many shops and restaurants are located within the Plaza or close walking distance. The staff at the Hotel was some of the best, very friendly and made you feel at home. The room was small but was certainly no problem for us. It looked out over the Plaza and what a great place to watch the action...would stay there again.

Quaint, friendly, comfortable

Pros: convenient cafe in lobby
Service is excellent, rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Very convenient location in the Plaza. Just a bit loud late at night when windows are open and your room faces the plaza. But the hotel provides earplugs!

Very friendly and helpful

Pros: Close restaurants
Our first trip to Taos and weren't sure where to book a room. We accidently found this hotel while walking around and were very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They let us view available rooms and provided us with information on where to visit, etc. Definately will stay there again.

The perfect Hotel for a Taos Thanksgiving getaway!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, great location
My husband and I could not have been happier with our choice to spend Thanksgiving at the Hotel La Fonda de Taos. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It is conveniently located right in the center of the Plaza within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice hotel in Taos.
