we stayed in room 111 shower floor was very slick a person could fall very easy. Rooms needed updating and no microwave in room. resort and golf course very nice, the staff was outstanding!!!

August is not the time of year to go to Lajitas. 110 degrees in the afternoon. Thirsty Goat prices are high. 4 beers, 4 margaritas, chips & guacamole & a brisket quesadilla = $100. Not kidding! Spring or fall would be better time of year

Home base

Pros: The staff was friendly and responsive. I lost my prescription glasses and one of the staff room service ladies turned them in. I am grateful for that.
Cons: Update the electrical system or buy lamps with outlets in the bases. Install a sink in the bathroom. (room 114)
Location: Big Bend NP is outstanding and unique. Terlingua is the place, especially the Starlight Theater. Spend an evening watching the sunset from the porch.
We chose LGRS as our home base for day trips into BBNP and elsewhere. It is located well for that use. The facility is located on spectacular grounds but the buildings are old and starting to show their age. Our room was large enough and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was not up to standards and for the daily price we paid for the room, it was very irritating for the management to ignore the condition. The bathroom did not have a sink but did have the coffee pot and small refrigerator??! There was an oval footed tub with very high sides to step over. The plumbing is outdated and required much fine tuning to get the proper water temperature. The towels were large and clean. The TV was very small for a hotel room (we do not watch TV but some might want to) and the electrical outlets were few and I had to stretch an extension cord across the room to connect my c-pap machine. Management addressed the lack of outlets with a couple of plug strips under the desk. The large lamp on the bedside table had wobbly and loose electrical bulb socket.

NASTY

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: I stayed the night and left
The hotel was doing renovations and my room reeked of Mold, had no Phone, TV, no Wifi and the AC/heater didn't work !

Lajitas Golf Resort

Pros: The activities lady was very nice and informative as was Colton Hunt at the golf course. We did love the golf course and our reception there.
Cons: I think the rooms where we stayed need a major redo. The grounds in that area were also shabby.
Location: We did lots of hinking , a river rafting experience and major touring..... The scenery is breathtaking.
Well, our room was very disappointing. It was dated and not clean. The windows had not been washed in years and you really couldn't see out for the shrubs were almost to the rooftop blocking your view. The bathroom was horrible...... you had to be a skinny person to get in there for it was so tight. The worse part is that the connecting room door allowed for everything to be heard... converstaion, coughing, etc...... OUr room was way overpriced !!! The hotel staff in the lobby gave us a poor reception. We asked about several things upon checking in..... he The reception cvlerk didn't know anything and was sort of rude and short. I think he was looking for a break. The activities lady was very nice and informative as was Colton Hunt at the golf course. We did love the golf course and our reception there.

Underwhelming. At half the price it would be quite acceptable.

Pros: good bar
Cons: Nothing close
Resort signage is either poor or non existant.Drove by twice and had to ask for the main entrance which actually uses a different name and is about 50yards off the highway through an unmarked parking lot. For this price,the room seemed worn and not up to date.Bathroom used cheap materials and hardware that didn't look very clean. Had a balcony, but the glass doors were nailed shut so you couldn't use it. Not even a continental breakfast included .We headed off to India's Cafe in Study Butte for breakfast. India posed for the nude painting behind the bar at Lajitas. Staff, in general,seemed competant but no more. The bar ," Thirsty Goat," or something similar, was very nice , comfortable and the barman was friendly. Food and drinks were good.

Great Place to Stay

The resort was very nice. Rooms were well decorated, food was excellent and the views were breath taking. The swimming pool needed some extra attention and several fountains on the property were not in working order. The staff was friendly and provided us with interesting background information. I would recommend this resort as a place to stay while exploring Big Bend National Park.
