We just returned from short trip to Chattanooga for a much needed break, and birthday celebration. This location is HIGHLY recommended both for normal times, and especially for covid19 / social distancing.
The location was very clean. Identical to the pictures. The place is a lot like a "mother in law suite". While the owner does live in the separate house (in the front), the space does not share HVAC, and you have complete privacy. The owner's presence was known, very cordial and helpful, but it would have been 100% possible to never run into each other too.
There were many of the typically amenities one might find in a decent hotel (soap, shampoo, coffee, tea, etc.) All kitchen appliances (stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee maker etc) were clean and in worked order and there were many extras. We weren't there long enough to need any extra linens, towels, etc., but there were plenty.
We celebrated my daughter's 3rd birthday and forgot a lighter. Sure enough, there was one in the kitchen, which saved us a trip.
A very small recommendation, if you have a toddler, you may want to consider bringing some plastic / disposable cups and dishes, especially for an extended stay. Dishes, cups, etc. were nicer quality, and we didn't want the kid to break anything. We also "redecorated" a bit, to move things out of the way from our kid. Not a big deal at all. We just put things back before leaving. This could be extra fantastic for a younger or older couple looking for a prime location. Despite being so close to the attractions, we didn't have any issues with traffic either.
As far as location, minutes away from everything. We picked this location because of proximity to the zoo. For covid, highly recommended you go early, it was practically a ghost town until we were leaving. Rock city was right across the street. We visited on the way out, they required a reservation and only allowed x number of people per block. Again, we were the only ones at 8:30am, ghost town, completely safe.
The national parks in the area were closed - but this is a fantastic location to do just about anything. The owner also had various books, and pamphlets for attractions. He was great at responding via messages on VRBO too.
We had amazing weather the past few days. Fall is a great time to book.
Again, highly recommended and will return.
