Semi-remote. It’s only 15 or so minutes from downtown Trinidad. You’re going to get a good nights sleep here. I’d pick the blue room. It makes you feel as though you’re back in your childhood bedroom. Cut to the chase: it’s homely. Linda is a gem and is the host with the most. She has that place stocked with random things you may have forgotten to pack ie: razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, games, movies, SNACKS! You can smoke outdoors by the rooms but please be cautious as the winds get out of control up there. I would totally stay here again. And again. Pet Charlie. She’s a good girl. FYI: shoot her an email (or call) to let her know what time you’ll be there.

    Our visit to Star Ranch
Somewhat remote, which we loved, Star Ranch is a great place to stay while exploring southern Colorado & northern New Mexico. Linda welcomed us like we were family. She is very friendly & available, yet provided the privacy we desired. Her furry friend, Charlie, is beautiful, friendly, & sweet. Linda provides other services, such as meals & a hammock on the porch, which we did not use on this trip, but plan to do so on our next trip. The mornings are cool, sometimes breezy, & wonderful. The views go on & on...wide open spaces with hawks, jack rabbits, & other wildlife. The apartment is homey & clean. It was very comfortable & relaxing after long days driving. We definitely recommend Star Ranch to others who are looking for a home away from home in south central Colorado. We feel as though we made two new friends and look forward to our next visit with Linda & Charlie.

    5/5 Excellent

    Great place to unwind
Linda's property is perfectly located just outside of Trinidad and is easy to find! She lives upstairs and is very knowledgable on the area. Her dog Charlie is wonderfully behaved and enjoys sleeping on the picnic table during the day. There is plenty of room for 4 people comfortably and she provides little extras that make the place feel like home. We will definitely be back!
