I am concerned about the care of their desert tortoise, who did not appear to have much freedom of movement or adequate food. I don't think it is the business of a hotel to house wild animals that would better be cared for by a wild animal zoo or protector. And they had an herb garden on the terrace that was severely neglected and lacked water.

This is not a 5 star establishment. The food is horrible we tried every restaurant and they are all bad. I guess when I hear the Ritz I have certain expectations and they were not met. The pool is ridiculously small definitely not enough space for all the guests…I just don’t understand it but I am no longer trusting star ratings they mean nothing.

Beautiful hotel. Staff very courteous and friendly. They always have bottled water if you need it. Be ready to take a long walk to the parking lot however, unless you want to pay for valet parking. Meals were good at Ignite and the wine bar, however pretty much same choice every day. Meals in the wine bar were huge, enough for two people, but I believe there is a $5 charge to split a meal there.

Spa getaway.

Pros: The staff are all so professional. They introduce themselves and call you by name. The food is great.
Cons: Beds too soft! Next time I will ask for pillow top to be removed.
Location: Great trails, scenery, birds etc. Shopping, movies.
Wonderful spa experience. Great time to have friends come for dinner and enjoy the beautiful lightning show.

Wonderful staff

Pros: Location, people.
Cons: Prices, money drop at every turn.
Stayed here recently Fri. through Sun. All staff are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly, smiling, seem to genuinely care that you are having a good time, attentive, nice. Our room (which we upgraded for a price, of course) was ok but I'm not sure I needed to pay an extra $120 a night for a giant living room table and a less than comfy small couch for two of us. Beds are awful and the pillows stink as they are flat no matter how many you pile on the bed. The air conditioner blows directly ON you when you are sleeping so I had to call the house maintenance people to come show me how to turn the air conditioning off so we could sleep at night. Be prepared to be nickled and dimed for everything here. Originally I swear I saw that the "resort fee" is $35 per room per day - well, it is now $50 per room per day and "includes" valet parking (which they say is complementary but it is not as they tacked the previously $21 per day parking fee into the resort fee). I will not stay again any place that charges a resort fee. Seems to me if people want to use said "resort fee" things - then charge them. Or, hey, you're already charging a premium for a not new property - so why not just include some things? All in all, nice, fairly quiet (although you will find that balconies are right next to each other with no separation so you can enjoy listening to your neighbors. Views out to Tucson are stunning.
