The hotel was very convenient. My husband was unhappy with the continental breakfast and the hotel in general is in a little disrepair.

This property has completely gone down. I would not even go to my room because I was scared to get out of my vehicle. I did NOT stay here after paying for it. It is a mess.

This is our second stay at MGH. A year ago the place was in a state of rehabilitation. This time things were more settled. The potholes in the street have been mostly repaired. The parking lot could still use some attention. The grounds are even more parklike, but the walkways need attention. The pool was very inviting. The breakfast is still the same - scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, make yourself waffle. However like last time the warming unit on the eggs and sausage was not active, and they were served cold. I'd think the health department would be interested. There are 2 wifi networks and they work well. The TV has an incredible number of channels. The price was about the same. We feel it was a bargain for what you get. You have to understand that a place discounted under $50 a night is not going to be a 4 star hotel with a 10 rating. The facility was quiet. The room was a little "musty" until it had time to air. The room showed more signs of wear than the room we had a year ago. This is our go to lodging in Tyler, and we go to it even if it adds several miles to our commute to where we are going. The Braums right up the street is a very economical place for a tasty treat. Overall we found this place very acceptable, but then again our standard is not the Waldorf, more like Super 8 - a place to sleep comfortably.
