Room was DIRTY chewed up gum left behind bed! The closet door was inside the closet leaning against the wall the headboard to the bed as broken!! Clumped up hair, chip bag and pacifier left in upstairs room....tubs were filthy like no one even came in the room and cleaned it! Tried to call office but no one answer It was a horrible disaster! I’m highly disappointed and I’ve also taken multiple pictures just to cover my back! I will be contacting corporate ASAP!!

I have stayed at this hotel several times since the late 1980's. It was originally a Residence Inn and everything was excellent. Then it changed to Hawthorne Suites and it was still pretty good and almost excellent. At that time the breakfast quality dropped a little and maintenance dropped a little. The past two times I have stayed here it has been Studio 6. There is no longer breakfast, but that's ok since I know great places for breakfast. Room service is infrequent and could be a little better. Maintenance could be somewhat better. I see some dirt and dust in places that should be keep clean. The beds are very comfortable, but the first night I was there this time, I was bitten sever times by something. I also had the same experience the last time I was here. For the most part the rooms still look almost as nice as when this was the Residence Inn. I have referred others to this location, but did caution them able the bits I received. For a single bed room, you cant beat the price and what you get for it.

Weekend trip

Pros: Roomy
Cons: Directions on how to use the shower. I have done much travelling and this one was a new one.
Easy access, nice rooms, convenient to eating and shopping.

Never again

Hotel was supposed to be a non smoking which I thought all were but I asked for it. Room smelled like a moist molded carton of smoked cigarettes. Hair all over the place to include the door to the bathroom in the shower. Thermostat wouldn't work, stayed funky all weekend.

Fantastic accommodations

Pros: Room, refrigerator, hot water........everything about the room wouldn't change a thing!
Cons: Breakfast items, stairs outside.
Location: Restaurant "Daniel Boone", WalMart
Wish we had known we would be going up 2 flights of outside stairs with luggage. This posed a challenge for 2 over 65, out of shape and overweight women. I would have booked for a downstairs had I known. We did not go to the desk to request another room; we were a little too out of breath. I would have loved to see waffles for breakfast and the eggs could have been scrambled a little bit harder. The room accommodations, however, were awesome. Hot water in the shower was plentiful. The full-sized refrigerator was perfect for three days of water bottles for three, along with watermelon and canteloupe.

Great room, excellent breakfast, close to schools.

Pros: One of the nicest breakfasts we've seen at a hotel in a long time.
Very happy. Will stay here again when visiting our kid in college.

Great place to stay in Tyler

Pros: I liked the newly refurnished rooms and the comfortable beds and pillows. We could prepare a quick meal in the kitchen if needed.
Cons: I wish there was coffee available at the breakfast buffet. The lid was broken on the coffee pot in my room and I had to mess with it to get it to work
Location: This is off the Troup Highway. It's close to shopping, the Tyler College and lots of places to eat.
Hawthorne Suites was close to my family that lives in Tyler. The rooms were clean and look newly refurnished. The kitchen was furnished with dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker etc. There was a comfortable queen size bed and the couch folded out for the kids to sleep on. At first we were told that the pool was closed for repair, but later in the day the pool was open. Very clean and plenty of pool towels were available late at night for guests. The breakfast buffet was awesome!! Fresh scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit salad, waffles with chocolate chips and other goodies to add in. Several varieties of cereal also. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely consider staying here again when I visit Tyler.

Quick overnight trip

Pros: Easy check-in, room layout, full fridge
Cons: Furniture upgrade...new tables, couch, chair..all very dated.
Location: Plenty of restaurants. Wal-Mart grocery store less than 2 mins away, bowling alley, movie theater
Wife and I went to Tyler for a concert and found this hotel was right behind the venue so we figured it would be a good pick. Overall, it was okay. Location was easy to find. The hotel looked like old apartments that were redone. We requested a non-smoking room and upon entering it was apparent that wasn't the case. I didn't make an issue of it since we'd only be there for the night. Plenty of room but the furniture and appliances looked dated. An upgrade is definitely in order. On the flipside, it was nice having a full fridge available with an ice maker. Didn't really use anything else in the kitchen. Bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Very easy check-in process. The morning breakfast spread was great. Lots of hot food and plenty to choose from.
